Ferguson Subaru has been a long-time supporter of the annual Bark Walk & Pet Fest. Bark Walk is a fundraising event held by the Boxer Rescue of Oklahoma. The event includes all types of activities; a pet contests, local vendors, over 15 local rescues with available pets for adoption, music, raffles, training tips, food trucks, kids zone, $20 microchipping, and so much more.

This year's event marked the 9th annual Bark Walk & Pet Fest. Ferguson Subaru was once again, a "Top Dog" sponsor.

The 2018 Bark Walk & Pet Fest was held at Central Park in beautiful downtown Broken Arrow, Oklahoma. This year, the Boxer Rescue of Oklahoma brought out a special guest - Travis Brorsen, host of Animal Planet's "My Big Fat Pet Makeover" Series. Travis was at Central Park, giving training tips and answering questions from Bark Walk participants.

Ferguson Subaru Sponsors 8th Annual Bark Walk & Pet Fest

One of our most favorite, yearly events is the annual Bark Walk. The Bark Walk is a fundraising event hosted by The Boxer Rescue of Oklahoma. Ferguson Subaru has been a Bark Walk sponsor for over 7 years! 2017 marked the 8th Annual Bark Walk & Pet Fest, and once again Ferguson Subaru was a "Top Dog" presenting sponsor!

Ferguson Subaru has been a long-time sponsor of the Bark Walk for many reasons. The Boxer Rescue of Oklahoma uses donations raised during the event towards a cause we deeply care about - animal rescue. Funds raised from Bark Walk help support The Boxer Rescue of Oklahoma by allowing the organization to save the lives of homeless animals and help promote animal welfare in our community. But, as an added bonus, we also get to meet dozens of four-legged friends and their proud owners.

This year's Bark Walk was held in Central Park, in downtown Broken Arrow. The event included the annual 1 mile walk around the park, and the popular PetFest; which featured a KidsZone with a bounce house, face painting and more, lots of vendors, food trucks, pet adoptions and much more!

Each year we bring some of our newest Subaru models to the event. This year, Ferguson Subaru brought the new 2017 Subaru Forester, and the new 2017 Subaru Outback Touring. The 2017 Outback Touring features a dark gray grille and a new Java Brown perforated leather-trimmed upholstery with contrasting ivory stitching.Learn more about the 2017 Subaru Outback Touring here: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=CsQb0KtlX-c

Ferguson Subaru Sponsors Another Great Bark Walk

Since the year 2000, Ferguson Subaru has been a presenting sponsor of the annual Bark Walk. Once again, Ferguson Subaru was at the 2016 TBRO Bark Walk! This year we brought out a red 2016 Subaru Forester, a blue 2016 Subaru Outback, and a white 2016 Subaru BRZ

The Tulsa Bark Walk is a fun-filled family event held every year, in April. The event includes pet adoptions, food trucks, $20 microchipping, and even has a kids zone! The past two years TBRO has held the event at Chisholm Trail South, next to the NSU Broken Arrow campus. The event is a wagging' good time for the whole family, and Ferguson Subaru is proud to be a long-time sponsor of the event.

TBRO is a 501(c)3 non-profit; volunteer ran organization committed to rescuing unwanted and abandoned purebred Boxers in the state of Oklahoma. According to the group's Facebook page, they started out rescuing dogs on a small scale in the Tulsa area, and grew to become a statewide organization. TBRO, "rescues nearly 400 Boxers a year from all over the state of Oklahoma. Many of our dogs available for adoption and our foster homes are located in Oklahoma City, as well as Tulsa."

Funds raised from Bark Walk help support The Boxer Rescue of Oklahoma by allowing the organization continue to save the lives of homeless animals and help promote animal welfare.

5th Annual Bark Walk

According to The Humane Society of the United States, "An estimated 2.7 million healthy shelter pets are not adopted each year, and only about 30 percent of pets in homes come from shelters or rescues." [1]

We love our pets here at Ferguson Subaru. Both our Subaru showroom and Subaru service department are pet-friendly facilities. Being the animal lovers we are, it hurts to hear statistics such as the one above. We believe in fighting for those without a voice. Animal rescue and animal cruelty awareness are two major pillars in our company's identity. Lucky for us, our dealership has a brand that is equally committed to animal rescue. Subaru of America has been a long time partner of the ASPCA (American Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals). The ASPCA is the leading animal welfare organization in the North America. That's why we are proud to work with local organizations like the Boxer Rescue of Oklahoma.

The Boxer Rescue of Oklahoma is a 501(c)3 non-profit, volunteer ran organization committed to rescuing unwanted and abandoned purebred Boxers in the state of Oklahoma (and surrounding areas) and placing them in a safe, responsible, loving, and permanent home. For the past five years The Boxer Rescue of Oklahoma has held their annual Bark Walk. Ferguson Subaru has be a proud sponsor of the Bark Walk for 4 years.

The 5th Annual Bark Walk was held this past weekend! This fun-filled family fundraiser features a 1 mile walk through the beautiful Washington Irving Park in Bixby. Funds raised during the Bark Walk help save the lives of homeless animals and help promote animal welfare in your community. Every year, dozens of homeless animals are adopted during the Bark Walk as well. Shelters from across Green Country bring loving animals available for adoption.

We had a blast at this year's 2014 Bark Walk. Check out photos from the event:

Today is National Animal Advocacy Day. Help support animal rescue in Tulsa, Broken Arrow, Bixby, Jenks, Sapulpa, and the surrounding area. We encourage you to adopt your next four-legged companion. Two great animal welfare organizations Ferguson Subaru has worked with include the Boxer Rescue of Oklahoma and the Tulsa SPCA.
