Ferguson Subaru and Subaru of America Move Forward with New Facility Projects

Ferguson Subaru is Northeastern Oklahoma's premier Subaru dealer. We're honored to have served the Greater Tulsa area for 15 years! In those 15 years, we've been privileged to see Subaru's popularity grow immensely both nationally and locally. Subaru's commitment to producing high quality, customer-desired vehicles and their customer-focused corporate philosophy have helped the automaker reach remarkable sales growth. In fact, last November marked Subaru of America's 48th consecutive month of year-over-year growth!

Our Ferguson Subaru team's commitment to better serve our customers has helped us become the #1 Subaru dealer in Oklahoma! With the growth we've experience at our Broken Arrow, Subaru dealership, and Subaru's customer-focused philosophy in mind, we began to invest more into our Subaru branch. On October 7, 2015 we broke ground on our new state-of-the art Ferguson Subaru facility. The new Ferguson Subaru building will be 26,000 sq. ft. when completed. It will feature a new Subaru showroom and service facility.

The new service facility will be a huge upgrade for our service department featuring a new “Subaru Express Service” with three service lanes, a new state-of-the-art car wash, and a new customer-focused waiting area including; a kids play area, wireless internet, and complementary refreshments and snacks.

As, construction on our Broken Arrow, Subaru facility moves along as scheduled, Subaru of America has begun the early stages of their own brand new facility in New Jersey.

Nine weeks after Ferguson's groundbreaking ceremony in Broken Arrow, Subaru of America broke ground on an all-new $118 million corporate headquarters in Camden, New Jersey.

Subaru of America has had its corporate headquarters in NJ since 1969 and has been in its current location in Cherry Hill since 1986. The new facility, at 250,000 square feet, plus an additional building at 83,000 square feet will be more than double the size of its current headquarters building and will bring employees from four sites onto one campus.

Subaru of America plans to complete the project by the end of 2017. While here in Broken Arrow, Ferguson Subaru plans to complete construction of our new state-of-the-art Subaru facility in late 2016.

Subaru Reveals Glimpse Into the Future with Impreza Sedan Concept

Many of the brands we carry at Ferguson Superstore revealed some attractive new products and concept cars at the 2015 Los Angeles auto show; from Buick's all-new 2017 LaCrosse to Kia's turquoise Optima convertible concept. But, there was one concept car we couldn't get out of our minds - Subaru's Impreza Sedan concept car. Ferguson's Stephen Hill was live at the Los Angeles Auto Show to capture a picture of the impressive sport sedan [below].

From the front-end hawk-eye headlights, along the sharp character line that runs the length of the car, to the sleek new trunk lid on the rear of the sporty sedan; the Subaru Impreza Sedan concept is quite appealing to look at. And, how can you not love that energetic Ruby Red Metallic paint color?

The all-new Subaru Impreza will be the first example of Subaru's next-generation vehicles using a new modular platform. The design is sportier and less angular than the previous generation Impreza, but with a powerful stance expressing Subaru’s new Dynamic x Solid design language. The new design direction hints at not only the new Impreza design, but of Subaru’s future models.

Ferguson Subaru is Tulsa and Northeast Oklahoma's premier Subaru dealership. We carry all new Subaru sedans and crossovers, like the Subaru Impreza and the Subaru Forester. Check out our selection of new and used Subarus at www.FergusonSubaru.com

Subaru Announces New Third-Row Crossover In The Works

According to the 2010 U.S. Census, there are 246,290 families in the Tulsa Metro. One thing we know is important for these families when purchasing a new vehicle is accommodation. A family vehicle needs to be able to accommodate varying passenger needs and the needs of each individual family member. Whether it’s accommodating infants who need to be within easy reach, or accommodating fully grown adults wanting as much legroom as possible; accommodation is a must for any family vehicle.

Subaru’s retired 3-row crossover model, the Subaru Tribeca, fit that bill nicely. Unfortunately, Subaru halted production of the Tribeca back in 2014. However, we’ve got some exciting news our Tulsa area families are going to want to hear – Subaru has announced plans to replace the Tribeca and put a new third-row crossover into its lineup!

That’s good news for Tulsa area families or anyone in Oklahoma who needs a vehicle with third-row capability. There’s just one slight catch, we’re going to have to wait until 2018 to be able to bring the new Subaru to our Broken Arrow dealership.

What do we know about Subaru’s new planned third-row crossover? Not a lot, but we know it will be larger than the Tribeca; which translates to more accommodating capability. We know it won’t be called the Tribeca. Subaru hasn’t released the name of their new Tribeca-replacing third row crossover, but for now we’ll just call it the 2018 Hurry-up-and-Get-Here Subaru. It will likely carry a name synonymous with outdoor adventure, consistent with the company’s other successful crossovers; the Subaru Outback, Subaru Forester and Subaru Crosstrek. And last, but not least, we know it’s a Subaru,  and Subaru vehicles are known for long-lasting reliability.

The Tribeca adapted well to Oklahoma life. It was a beloved option for our Tulsa area families, and it has been missed at our Broken Arrow Subaru dealership. A significant number of our customers come in asking for a vehicle with third row capability. That’s why we’re excited about Subaru’s plan for a new third-row crossover. We expect the new vehicle to pick up where the Tribeca left off and do quite well here in the Tulsa Metro.

We’ll release more information about the new crossover as soon as Subaru makes another announcement of the vehicle. For now, stay tuned to our Subaru blog and our Facebook page to get the latest Subaru news and updates. Check out our new Subaru inventory online at www.FergusonSubaru.com.

Ferguson Subaru Donates School Supplies

Ferguson Subaru loves to give back to our community. One of the areas we believe is worth investing in is education. Our team is committed to helping the advancement of learning and learning opportunities in our community.

Looking at local, Tulsa area schools we learned that, on average, teachers spend up to $500 of their own money each year on supplies for their classrooms. As advocates of learning, that didn’t sit well with us at Ferguson Subaru. We wanted to help provide the necessary supplies teachers need to teach, and students need to learn. So, we decided to hold a school supply drive.

During the months of August and September, Ferguson Subaru collected school supplies from generous donators in the Broken Arrow and Tulsa area. Our goal was to “Stuff a Subaru,” or stuff a Subaru Forester to be specific.

By the end of our supply drive, we had quite a bit of school supplies in the back of our Subaru Forester (thank you to all who donated). The next step was to get those supplies into the hands of teachers and students. We reached out to Kendall-Whittier Elementary School, in Tulsa.

Kendall-Whittier is an elementary school located in north-central Tulsa, just west of the University of Tulsa campus. The school has been providing students in the area a place to grow and learn for generations. Kendall-Whittier Elementary is a lighthouse to our community. According to the school, “As a Title I school, we don’t require that students bring school supplies at the beginning of the year to respect the limited financial situations of many of our families.”

After our supply drive was over, we drove the Subaru Forester, stuffed with supplies, over to the elementary school! We are honored to have the opportunity to work with the teachers and staff at Kendall-Whittier! Tulsa community mascot, Fergie Bear, was present to help drop off the supplies! A $250 donation was also given to the school through AdoptAClassroom.org.

Ronda Kesler, principal at Kendall-Whittier, had the following to say about the donation,
“I would like to express appreciation on behalf of my staff for the delightful trunk of gifts that were delivered to Kendall-Whittier ES by Fergie Bear and your gracious staff…We are so grateful and blessed to have been the recipient of this year’s Ferguson Subaru school supply drive. Please accept our ‘Thank You’ from my staff and students!”

Ferguson Subaru’s focus on education in the month of August and September was part of the Subaru Love Promise, a pledge to do right in our communities and the world.

New, State-of-the-art Subaru facility Coming Soon!

Since the fist day we introduced Subaru to the Tulsa Metro, nearly 15 years ago, our Subaru showroom has shared the same building with our Kia brand. Blessed with both an increase in new Subaru sales and new Kia sales, it's time for a change!

Today, August 14, 2015, we're proud to announce work has started on the future home of Ferguson Subaru! Our new state-of the-art Subaru facility will be constructed just behind our Buick GMC building, along the Broken Arrow Expressway.

[above] Photo of future Ferguson Subaru facility

Our new Subaru facility will greatly improve our customers' experience and interaction. Separating our Kia and Subaru buildings will improve customer satisfaction in 3 major ways:

1. Our new facility will give us more space. With this new space we can offer more variety and a bigger selection for not only our Subaru customers, but our Kia customers as well!
2. We will have two dedicated Ferguson teams; a Subaru team and a Kia team. This will allow our employees to have a greater knowledge and expertise of their assigned product.
3. Service. Our service department has seen exponential growth, as well. Our new Subaru facility will allow our customers to get in and out of our service bay in a much timely manner.

Our state-of-the-art Subaru facility will be completed in approximately 16 months! We're extremely excited to bring this new Subaru facility to Green Country. With our new Subaru facility, we'll be able to offer the best customer experience in Oklahoma! Follow us on Facebook to stay up-to-date and follow the progress of our new facility!

More and More Fall in Love with Subaru

Although it's only fall, it feels a lot like February around here. It's during February that lovers are expected to show more affection than the other 364 days of the year. February 14th is; after all, the day of love.

So, why does the beginning of fall already feel warm and fuzzy? We have one guess...maybe because Subaru has been on a roll! This past August marked the best-ever sales month in Subaru's history. It also marked 18th consecutive month of 40,000+ vehicle sales for the company which continues to outpace the industry. Yes, Americans truly love Subaru, and we all know what makes a Subaru, a Subaru; love!

Subaru of America President and COO, Thomas J. Doll, dedicated Subaru's tremendous growth to a focus on customer satisfaction stating, “Our milestone August sales results are a testament to the dedicated efforts of our retail partners to provide our customers with the best purchase and ownership experience possible."

The Subaru love bug hasn't skipped Oklahoma! Ferguson Subaru has been serving the Tulsa/Broken Arrow, Northeast Oklahoma area for nearly 15 years. We've watched Subaru's efforts to keep customers satisfied with unmatched SUV and sedan products. We've been privileged to see Subaru's efforts, along with great Ferguson Subaru team effort, help us experience an impressive growth of our own.

'STUFF A SUBARU' School Supply Drive

Aside from your parents, can you think of someone who inspired you, pushed you, and prepared you for life's journey? Many of us owe a "thank you" to our teachers. Teachers leave lasting impressions on our lives and on the lives of our children.

The work of a teacher impacts the community as a whole. As Helen Caldicott once said, “Teachers, I believe, are the most responsible and important members of society because their professional efforts affect the fate of the earth.” Given the right tools, our teachers have the ability to shape not only the future of Tulsa and the surrounding communities but effectively the world. There's just one problem; not every teacher is equipped with the right tools and/or resources.

On average, teachers spend up to $500 of their own money each year on supplies for their classrooms. This is a fact that doesn't sit well with us at Ferguson Subaru. We love learning, and we love our teachers. We want to see the Tulsa/Broken Arrow area, our community, continue to grow and flourish, and we know the role of the teacher is vital in this. So, we decided to do something about it; something to help our local teachers.

We decided to 'Stuff A Subaru' with school supplies.

We decided to host a school supply drive, but we need your help!
With your help, we can make sure Tulsa-area students have what they need to succeed.

2016 Subaru WRX STi and BRZ Series.HyperBlue Edition

Not many states can compete with the natural beauty Oklahoma has to offer. Even the state flag of Oklahoma has its own unmistakable beauty.
Of course, we might be a little biased being Oklahoma's number one Subaru dealer.

One thing we love about the Oklahoma state flag is its instantly recognizable blue background. According to Maps of the World, "The origin of the sky blue color can be traced back to the flag used by the Choctaw soldiers at the time of the Civil War. This color stands for the great virtues of loyalty and fidelity towards the state and its people." [1] The blue on the Oklahoma flag signifies devotion.

If there's one thing you should know about Subaru, it's Subaru's devotion for producing high-quality, attractive sports cars. Their latest special edition models not only demonstrate their love for top-notch sports cars, but are also a surprisingly perfect match for our Oklahoma Subaru customers.

Subaru has revealed the 2016 Series.HyperBlue limited edition Subaru BRZ and Subaru WRX STi models. The limited edition models feature Subaru’s exclusive Hyper Blue exterior paint with matching interior trim.

Doesn't that Hyper Blue paint pop! It matches nicely with the Oklahoma flag!

The 2016 Series.HyperBlue limited edition will be produces exclusively on 2016 Subaru WRX STI and 2016 Subaru BRZ models. Production will be limited to 700 WRX STI and 500 BRZ cars for the United States.

2016 Series.HyperBlue WRX STI
With rally cross in its DNA, the Subaru WRX STi is one of the meanest sports cars on the road. Now in the new 2016 Series.HyperBlue limited edition it's both fierce and stunning. The 2016 Series.HyperBlue trim brings exclusive blue stitching to the leather wrapped steering wheel, standard Alcantara seats, manual transmission shifter boot, console as well as carpeted floor mats with the traditional Cherry Red STI logo. The Series.HyperBlue WRX STI is also equipped with 18" BBS Black Alloy wheels and black badging with black painted exterior mirrors.

2016 Series.HyperBlue BRZ
The Series.HyperBlue BRZ cabin features an exclusive design scheme. The leather and Alcantara upholstery includes Hyper blue leather head restraints and seat bolsters. Blue stitching accents the seats and the blue and black leather-wrapped steering wheel, as well as the shift lever boot and leather-wrapped parking brake handle. The blue motif carries to the center console kneepads and door trim, accented by an embroidered silver BRZ logo on the front seatbacks. Carpeted floor mats also pick up the BRZ logo and blue stitching. The exterior continues the Series.HyperBlue theme with 17" black alloy wheels, black glossy badging and painted black finish exterior mirrors.

The 2016 Series.HyperBlue limited edition Subaru BRZ
and Subaru WRX STi will go on sale this Fall.

Ferguson Subaru is devoted to providing the best customer service in Oklahoma. Stay tuned to our Subaru blog or follow us on our Facebook page and we'll update you as soon as the Series.HyperBlue 2016 models arrive at our Broken Arrow Subaru dealership!

Subaru Rally & Subaru RallyCross Get Set to for Another Season

2014 brought a milestone of accomplishments to the Subaru Rally and Subaru RallyCross teams. But 2014 has come and past. Now, it's a new year and a new season. But for Subaru it's more than just another start of a new season, it's a chance to showcase what Subaru Motorsports is capable of.

If the Subaru Motorsports team is to repeat another championship, they're going to need a new edge over the competition. Lucky for them the Subaru engineers have cooked up something special. For the 2015 rally season the team will be racing in the new 2015 Subaru WRX STi platform.

Subaru has learned many lessons over the years in the sport of rally. Bit by bit the Subaru engineers have evolved the Subaru WRX STi, the workhorse of Subaru Motorsports. Years of planning and development will culminate in a serious attempt to claim both the Global Rally Cross and Rally championship, and the 2015 Subaru WRX STi is up to the task.

The 2015 Subaru WRX STi gives the Subaru team a decisive edge over the competition. Development of the 2015 Subaru WRX STi began two years ago. It's more nimble, more responsive, and faster than last year's model that gave the Subaru Rally team their championship. Performance improvements are made possible by smarter geometry, a new chassis, and a new wide body kit for the fast gravel stages. The 2015 Subaru WRX STi offers the next big leap forward for Subaru Rally Team USA.

Subaru Rally drivers David Higgins, and Travis Pastrana have high hopes for the new 2015 Subaru WRX STi platform; while Subaru RallyCross drivers, Bucky Lasek and Sverre Isachsen, look to transfer their progress in Global RallyCross with the new WRX STi chassis.

Will the Subaru Rally Team be able to repeat another championship? Follow along with Subaru Motorsports as they fight for position race by race in Subaru's in-depth web series "Launch Control"  - now in it's third season.

Catch the latest episode of Season 3 of Subaru Launch Control

Subaru of America has helped support nearly 300 animal shelters, grant more than 600 wishes, fund over one million meal deliveries to seniors, and helped support over 70 national parks through the Subaru Share the Love Event.

The Subaru Share the Love Event - held each year between November and January - makes it possible for new Subaru owners, Subaru of America and Subaru dealers across the country (like Ferguson Subaru) to share the love with charities in our own backyard; one meal, one wish, one pet, and one park at a time. The Subaru Share the Love Event reflects Ferguson Subaru's commitment to improving our community.

During the Subaru Share the Love Event, Subaru donates $250 for every new Subaru vehicle sold or leased to the customer's choice of the following charities: ASPCA®, Make-A-Wish®, Meals On Wheels Association of America®, National Park Foundation and Teach for America. In addition to the five national organizations, Subaru retailers have the opportunity to add a sixth local charity for customers to support.

Ferguson Subaru chose to partner with Guide Dogs for the Blind for the 2015 Subaru Share the Love Event. Thanks to our new Subaru customers, who came from all over Oklahoma and beyond, we were able to raise $12,864 to be donated to Guide Dogs for the Blind!

Ad Astra Per Aspera: Subaru Helps Future Space Exploration

During the 1950's and 1960's the United States and the former Soviet Union were in a heated competition to land the first human on the moon. This time period is called the first Space Race. Now, in the 21st century, there's an argument that we're in the second Space Race. There's been an increase in space technology development from countries such as China, India, the European Union, and Japan.

Engineers and scientists are continuing to develop technologies that lead to more discoveries about the cosmos; discoveries that may help answer questions about the formation of the planets and stars. There's no telling what new discoveries await us in the future. But, all that knowledge can be lost, if a focus is not placed on fostering the next generation of engineers and scientist to carry on the research. Luckily, some of the world's most successful companies have come together to make sure we continue to inspire and educate our next generation of space leaders, and one of those companies is Subaru.

Subaru recognizes the importance of education, and especially STEM (science technology engineering math) education, in helping to prepare and inspire our youth to become the next generation of business, science, community, technology, and education leaders. To help the scientists, astronauts and engineers of tomorrow, Subaru announced its continued partnership with the Student Spaceflight Experiments Program (SSEP).

The Student Spaceflight Experiments Program (SSEP) is a program of the National Center for Earth and Space Science Education (NCESSE) in Washington, D.C. One of the core goals of the SSEP program is to inspire and engage America's next generation of scientist and engineers. SSEP immerses students, from across the country, ranging from 5th grade all the way up to college, in science experiments that will actually be developed and implemented on the International Space Station.

Through the partnership, Subaru will donate $50,000 to the program to support schools in communities across the country that are in need of funding to participate in this education initiative. Subaru has to date made possible SSEP participation by 9 communities across the U.S. This corresponds to 3,090 students that were engaged in experiment design due to Subaru’s commitment, and 741 proposals received from student teams.

It's only fitting that Subaru (a company that embraces a culture that includes empowerment, innovation, and continual learning) cares about the protection of space exploration and the development of tomorrow's scientist and engineers. Subaru, after all owes its name from Pleiades, a star cluster in the Taurus constellation.

Subaru believes that engaging students in unique learning opportunities, such as this model initiative, are important in bringing STEM education to life. Subaru is proud to be a national partner of the Student Spaceflight Experiments Program.

Ferguson Subaru at the Tulsa Women's Expo

Tulsa would not be the city it is today without the contributions of strong women in the community. There's been a longstanding presence of empowering women in Tulsa who have shaped and developed Oklahoma’s second largest city. Tulsa Historical Society & Museum notes the importance of women have played in Tulsa's history noting, "In those first few decades of Tulsa, women established schools, cultural organizations, and civic groups that changed the landscape of Tulsa both then and now." [1]

Today, Tulsa offers many opportunities for women. There are many great career opportunities in Tulsa; in fact many businesses in Tulsa were founded by women. The city also hosts a number of events dedicated specifically for women. One of those events is the annual Tulsa Women’s Living Expo.

The Tulsa Women's Living Expo is all about community and connection. The goal of the Tulsa Women's Expo is to enrich the lives of today's women and their families. To show our support and gratitude for the women in our community, Ferguson Subaru was pleased to be a sponsor of this year’s Tulsa Women’s Expo. We have several wonderful ladies on the Ferguson Subaru Team. Two of those stellar team-members include Nancy Erickson and Hannah Chaboya. Nancy and Hannah were at the Ferguson Subaru booth during this year’s Tulsa Women’s Expo.

Nancy and Hannah at the Tulsa Women's Expo

Located next to the Pure Romance Love Your Lifestyle Stage, our Subaru booth featured two new Subaru models, the 2015 Subaru XV Crosstrek Hybrid, and the 2015 Subaru Forester. Ferguson Subaru was honored to sponsor Tony Dovolani’s appearance at the Tulsa Women’s Expo. Fans of the show might recognize Tony from his dancing skills. He’s starred in nearly 20 season of the ABC hit show. Ferguson Subaru was proud to be able to help bring Tony to Green Country and the great city of Tulsa, Oklahoma. 3 NEW SUBARU MOVELS TAKE TOP HONORS IN KBB 2015 BEST RESALE VALUE AWARDS

How will your life look 5 years from now? If you're anything like us, it's difficult to say. Have you ever created a one year plan? You started out with a clear road map to stick to, but end up taking unexpected turns into uncharted territory- not where you originally planned to end up. So, how are we expected to know what's in store for us 5 years out?

What if you told you, there's one thing you can count on. That’s, confidence - confidence in purchasing a new Subaru. Subaru recently earned the coveted Best Resale Value Brand by Kelley Blue Book in Three Vehicle Segment Awards for 2015. The Best Resale Value Awards recognize 2015 model-year vehicles for their projected retained value through the initial five-year ownership period. Like all of KBB.com’s new- and used-vehicle information, this award is designed to help consumers make more informed car-buying decisions.

Winning this achievement gives Ferguson Subaru customers a clear indication that if they were to purchase a new Subaru today, they'd still be smiling 5 years down the road; smiling with confidence that their Subaru has maintained its value through the years.

The three Subaru models that took home the 2015 Best Resale Value Award include the following in their respected segment:

  • Compact Car Category: 2015 Subaru Impreza
  • Sporty Compact Car Category: 2015 Subaru WRX
  • Mid-Size Car Category: 2015 Subaru Legacy

Here at the Ferguson Subaru, we stand behind every vehicle we sell new or used. Stop in to our showroom located at 1501 N. Elm Place Broken Arrow, OK, to take a test drive and learn more about any one of the award-winning vehicles we have in stock.
