Ruts N' Guts is a weekend-long, professional off-road bicycling (or cyclocross) competition event. Ruts N' Guts draws cyclocross athletes from around the world, and has put Broken Arrow, Oklahoma on the map in the world of international cycling. As in years past, the 2017 Ruts N' Guts was held at Broken Arrow's Chisholm Trail Park; directly next to the Northeastern State University's Broken Arrow campus.
Many participants and spectators, who have attended the event in the past, might have noticed something a little different to this year's Ruts N' Guts. Ferguson Subaru was proud to sponsor a Subaru VIP parking section! The special VIP parking allowed any, and all, participants and spectators, who drive a Subaru, to park on the east side of the parking lot, closest to the race registration and course.

In an effort to encourage the up-and-coming youth of cyclocross, and also to give back to the community, Ruts N' Guts works closely with the Broken Arrow Bike Club. This year, after the race, Ruts N' Guts surprised the Broken Arrow Bike Club with a special visitor. Rebecca Gross, one of our Pro Elite Women racer that participated in Ruts N' Guts, surprised students at Rhoades Elementary. She hung out with the kids, gave them tips on how to ride, talked about what it's like being a pro cyclist, and signed autographs. Watch report by KJRH [video below].
In our eyes, this year's Ruts N' Guts was a huge success, both by the tremendous effort of the athletes who competed, but also by the efforts of the Ruts N' Guts organizers to give back to our community. Ferguson Subaru is proud to be a sponsor of Ruts N' Guts.
One of our most favorite, yearly events is the annual Bark Walk. The Bark Walk is a fundraising event hosted by The Boxer Rescue of Oklahoma. Ferguson Subaru has been a Bark Walk sponsor for over 7 years! 2017 marked the 8th Annual Bark Walk & Pet Fest, and once again Ferguson Subaru was a "Top Dog" presenting sponsor!
Ferguson Subaru has been a long-time sponsor of the Bark Walk for many reasons. The Boxer Rescue of Oklahoma uses donations raised during the event towards a cause we deeply care about - animal rescue. Funds raised from Bark Walk help support The Boxer Rescue of Oklahoma by allowing the organization to save the lives of homeless animals and help promote animal welfare in our community. But, as an added bonus, we also get to meet dozens of four-legged friends and their proud owners.
This year's Bark Walk was held in Central Park, in downtown Broken Arrow. The event included the annual 1 mile walk around the park, and the popular PetFest; which featured a KidsZone with a bounce house, face painting and more, lots of vendors, food trucks, pet adoptions and much more!
Each year we bring some of our newest Subaru models to the event. This year, Ferguson Subaru brought the new 2017 Subaru Forester, and the new 2017 Subaru Outback Touring. The competition consists of Category 1 and Category 2 races, sanctioned by the Union Cycliste Internationale (UCI), the international governing body for the sport of cycling.
Ruts N' Guts draws cyclocross athletes from around the world, and has put Broken Arrow, Oklahoma on the map in the world of international cycling. As in years past, the 2016 Ruts N' Guts was held at Broken Arrow's Chisholm Trail Park; directly next to the Northeastern State University's Broken Arrow campus. This year the race organizers also included a Craft Brew Festival for participants to enjoy.

The new service facility will be a huge upgrade for our service department featuring a new “Subaru Express Service” with three service lanes, a new state-of-the-art car wash, and a new customer-focused waiting area including; a kids play area, wireless internet, and complementary refreshments and snacks.
As, construction on our Broken Arrow, Subaru facility moves along as scheduled, Subaru of America has begun the early stages of their own brand new facility in New Jersey.
Nine weeks after Ferguson's groundbreaking ceremony in Broken Arrow, Subaru of America broke ground on an all-new $118 million corporate headquarters in Camden, New Jersey.

Subaru of America has had its corporate headquarters in NJ since 1969 and has been in its current location in Cherry Hill since 1986. The new facility, at 250,000 square feet, plus an additional building at 83,000 square feet will be more than double the size of its current headquarters building and will bring employees from four sites onto one campus.
Subaru of America plans to complete the project by the end of 2017. While here in Broken Arrow, Ferguson Subaru plans to complete construction of our new state-of-the-art Subaru facility in late 2016.

Our new Subaru facility will greatly improve our customers' experience and interaction. Separating our Kia and Subaru buildings will improve customer satisfaction in 3 major ways:
1. Our new facility will give us more space. With this new space we can offer more variety and a bigger selection for not only our Subaru customers, but our Kia customers as well! 2. We will have two dedicated Ferguson teams; a Subaru team and a Kia team. This will allow our employees to have a greater knowledge and expertise of their assigned product. 3. Service. Our service department has seen exponential growth, as well. Our new Subaru facility will allow our customers to get in and out of our service bay in a much timely manner.
Our state-of-the-art Subaru facility will be completed in approximately 16 months! We're extremely excited to bring this new Subaru facility to Green Country. Ferguson Subaru was proud to sponsor the Boxer Rescue of Oklahoma's 6th annual "Bark Walk." For 2015, the Boxer Rescue of Oklahoma held the Bark Walk at Chisholm in Broken Arrow.
The Boxer Rescue of Oklahoma is a 501(c)3 non-profit, volunteer ran organization committed to rescuing unwanted and abandoned purebred Boxers in the state of Oklahoma and surrounding areas and place them in a safe, responsible, loving, and permanent home.
Bark Walk is a fund-raising event that features a 1 mile walk through one of Green Country's local parks. All breeds are welcome - not just boxers. There's pet adoptions, $20 microchipping, pet contests, raffles, training tips and more!
Ferguson Subaru is committed to helping animal rescue and pet adoptions, making the Bark Walk a perfect event for us to be a part of.
