Ascent Earned A Spot On Autotrader’s List of "Best New Cars for 2019"

The 2019 Subaru Ascent has recently earned a spot on Autotrader’s list of Best New Cars for 2019 for meeting the needs of the modern family with emphasis on comfort, build and ride quality, features and value.

“We are extremely proud of the all-new Ascent,” said Thomas J. Doll, President and Chief Executive Officer, Subaru of America, Inc. “Our goal was to create a family vehicle made to Subaru’s highest standards of safety, comfort and value. Earning a spot on Autotrader’s list of Best New Cars for 2019 is an honor.”

Autotrader based the winners on a wide-ranging set of criteria, including ride quality, available features, build quality, interior comfort and materials. With a price cap at $75,000, the cars and trucks on Autotrader’s list offer a significant value for the asking price. Each vehicle was agreed upon unanimously by the entire editorial and data team at Autotrader. To be considered, a vehicle must be of the current or next model-year and available for purchase at the time of the awards announcement.

The 3-row Ascent is equipped with standard Subaru Symmetrical All-Wheel Drive and Active Torque Vectoring and is powered by an all-new turbocharged 2.4-liter BOXER engine. All trim levels are paired with a high-torque Lineartronic CVT as well as X-Mode® with Hill Descent Control. This powertrain delivers up to 5,000-lb. towing capacity, the most of any Subaru in history.

The all-new Ascent is the largest Subaru ever built; with a starting price of $31,995. With ample passenger and cargo volume, the Ascent provides room for every passenger and their gear.

2017 SUBARU OUTBACK NAMED TO U.S. NEWS & WORLD REPORT’S BEST NEW CARS FOR TEENS

Perhaps the Subaru commercial, above, best sums up how parents feel when their kids grow up and begin to drive. The commercial shows a father giving driving instruction to his little girl -who, in reality, isn't so little anymore.

As children grow up and begin to drive, many parents think back to when their child took their first baby-steps. Most parents find this transition difficult, as they think back to all the stumbles and falls their child took as they learned to walk - and now they are driving!

There are other statistics out there that make this process even harder for parents. One of those being a study conducted by AAA [1] that states half of teen drives admit to texting while driving.

For all the parents of teen drivers, U.S. News & World Report as recently released their list of the 2017 'Best New Cars for Teens' [2]. This list may help alleviate some of that fear and anxiety.

Not surprisingly, Subaru has made the list! The 2017 Outback was named to U.S. News & World Report’s Best New Cars for Teens for accident prevention and crash protection technologies as well as overall quality.

To be named one of the Best New Cars for Teens, a vehicle must have the best combination of reliability ratings, crash test scores, available advanced driver assistance features and top critics’ recommendations in the U.S. News Best Car rankings in its pricing category.

The 2017 Subaru Outback's proven combination of award-winning safety technology, standard symmetrical all-wheel drive, and exemplary fuel efficiency help the SUV secure its spot on U.S. News & World Report’s Best New Cars for Teens 2017 list.

One of the 2017 Outback industry-leading safety technology features is its Reverse Automatic Braking system. The Reverse Automatic Braking system helps the driver avoid a possible collision when the vehicle is moving in reverse. The system uses four ultrasonic sonar sensors located in the rear bumper cover and can automatically stop the vehicle.

U.S. World News & World Report had the following to say about the 2017 Outback, "Subaru is one of only a few brands that offer a rear automatic braking system, so if your teen backs up without looking, the Outback can stop itself to prevent a collision...It’s hard to argue against the Outback as a top-notch choice for teenage drivers." [3]

Ferguson Subaru is Oklahoma's #1 Subaru dealer. We have a large selection of the 2017 Subaru Outback and 2018 Subaru Outback! We encourage all Oklahoma parents who are looking for a safe, reliable vehicle for their teenager, to come test-drive the Subaru Outback.

Tribeca's Replacement - The Next Large SUV from Subaru

There are many appealing qualities that can explain Subaru's success in America and Oklahoma. Two of the most notable include Subaru’s long-lasting value and symmetrical all-wheel drive. In fact, 96% of Subaru vehicles sold in the last 10 years are still on the road today, and Subaru has the best-selling all-wheel drive cars in America for the past 6 years!

Subaru's symmetrical all-wheel drive is standard on their entire line-up of vehicles, minus the BRZ. Subaru Symmetrical All-Wheel Drive continually keeps the power routed to all four wheels, ensuring an outstanding grip in snow, rain or rough road. It's one of the top reasons Tulsa area drivers are turning to Subaru.

While all these qualities are great, there's one thing that's been missing in Subaru's arsenal, for quite some time, and that is a large SUV. Not since Subaru discontinued the Tribeca has there been a Subaru vehicle that can fit up to seven passengers. We hear it all the time from our customers. They want a Subaru that can hold more people. After all, using Subaru's symmetrical all-wheel drive to explore the great outdoors is much funnier when you can bring along friends and family. Subaru recently unveiled a new concept that gives hope for such a vehicle!

In November, Subaru introduced the all-new Subaru VIZIV-7 SUV concept at the 2016 Los Angeles Auto Show. The name gives away its biggest appeal, VIZIV-7; as in it can carry up to seven passengers! VIZIV is a name derived from Vision for Innovation. The VIZIV-7 concept has three-row seating, and gives us a prototype for the next large SUV from Subaru.

At the release of the Subaru VIZIV-7 SUV concept, Subaru promised a production version of the large SUV will be introduced to the North American market in early 2018. Subaru's corporate executive vice president, Takeshi Tachimori, stated “We know customers in this segment want a full-sized vehicle and the next 3-row from Subaru will be the biggest Subaru vehicle ever.”

So to our Tulsa-area shoppers, be patient. It won't be long before Ferguson Subaru will be able to offer a 7-passenger Subaru! The large SUV will undoubtedly be fitted with Subaru's all-important symmetrical all-wheel drive. Just imagine the possibilities!

Special Edition "Pure Red" 2016 Subaru Crosstrek Revealed

Oklahoma has a special connection with the color red. It's the birthplace of red dirt music, which draws its name from Oklahoma's red clay soil. Also, the state is border, to the south, by the historic Red River, which of course contributed to the naming of the Red River Rivalry between the Oklahoma University and the Texas University sporting competitions. In fact, the word humma, within the state's name, literally means red in the Choctaw language.

Ferguson Superstore; likewise, has a special connection with the color. Taking a look at our logo, you'll see our copyrighted "F" emblem has been colored in red throughout our store's forty-two year history.

As both Northeastern Oklahoma's premier Subaru dealer and fans of the color red, we were thrilled to hear Subaru's recent release of the new 2016 Crosstrek Special Edition, painted in - you guessed it - red! Subaru calls the new exterior hue, "Pure Red."

Subaru's third best selling model, the versatile Subaru Crosstrek, is a highly-capability crossover. It is one of the most fuel-efficient all-wheel-drive crossover utility vehicles in America, delivering 34-mpg EPA-estimated highway fuel economy.

The new Special Edition Crosstrek, with its "Pure Red" exterior paint, features matching foldable mirrors with integrated turn signals. The color finds its way inside the SUV as well with red stitching along the door panels, steering wheel, and leather-wrapped shift lever handle. Also, interior lighting casts a soft red glow onto the front floor area and storage space below the climate control.

Subaru says the new Special Edition 2016 Crosstrek will also be equipped with the All-Weather Package (heated front seats, heated exterior mirrors and windshield wiper de-icer), Power Sunroof, Keyless Access with Push-Button Start, an amplitude of innovative safety features and a standard 6.2-in. single-touch gesture display with SUBARU STARLINK technology.

As handsome as the new "Pure Red" Special Edition 2016 Crosstek is, we anticipate the SUV to resonate well with our Oklahoma shoppers; however, Subaru is limiting the production of this vehicle to only 1,500 units.

The Special Edition Crosstek is expected to arrive at our Broken Arrow dealership in late spring 2016. We can't wait to bring the "Pure Red" Crosstrek to the Sooner State! Stay tuned to our Subaru blog, or like our page on Facebook to stay connected with us and learn when the new Crosstrek arrives on our lot!
