Ferguson Subaru Donates Over $16,000 to Hope Is Alive

During the annual "Subaru Share The Love Event," Subaru donates $250 for every new Subaru sold or leased from mid-November to early January. New Subaru owners can make the choice of that donation going to one of five charities; four national charity partners, and one local partner. For the 2017-2018 "Subaru Share The Love Event," Ferguson Subaru partnered with Hope Is Alive as our local charity partner.

Thanks to our Subaru customers, Ferguson Subaru was able to raise $16,531 in charitable donation to Hope Is Alive!

Hope is Alive is a wonderful, life-changing, local, Tulsa-area based non-profit. Hope is Alive exists to radically change the lives of drug addicts, alcoholics and those that love them; to inspire hope, build foundations and change the lives of people affected by addiction. Hope is Alive provides specialized one-of- a-kind opportunities to men (and soon women) who are ready to take their recovery to the next level. You can learn more about Hope Is Alive at: hopeisalive.net

Hope Is Alive says the donation will go directly to supporting their three homes in the Tulsa area.

Ferguson Subaru would like to thank anyone who purchased, or leased, a new Subaru from our team, between November 16, 2017 to January 2, 2018; and selected Hope Is Alive as their donation choice! It is part of our culture to support causes important to our employees and customers. Through the Share the Love event, we are excited to continue our commitment to support our national and hometown charity partners.

The 2018 Subaru Crosstrek: The Winning Package

Many drivers, in the Tulsa Metro, are looking for a vehicle that is safe, reliable, and versatile. A significant portion of those drivers are finding the perfect combination of features in the Subaru Crosstrek. It's one of our favorite crossovers, here at Ferguson Subaru. Of course, we're a little bias, but don't just take our work for it. Read a few comments from some of our recent Crosstrek shoppers:

"First of all I want to say how awesome and professional my salesperson, Miguel, was in helping me find exactly what I wanted. It’s been a little over a month since I picked up my new Crosstrek. I enjoy driving the Crosstrek more and more every day. I highly recommend Subaru!"
- Ryan M.

"I had a Subaru for 10 years and when it was time to get a new car I knew another Subaru was the right choice for me. I love my new Crosstrek. My salesman, Jeremy, was very helpful explaining all the smart safety features of my new car. Thank you Jeremy and Ferguson Subaru!"
- Maureen M.

"I worked with James on buying my 2018 Subaru Crosstrek. James was extremely knowledgeable as well as helpful in the car buying process. I’ve only had my crosstrek for a week now but I’m loving it and getting great gas mileage!"
- Mattias R.

"I love my Crosstrek! Eddie Turner helped me find my forever car, the one that suits my personality and lifestyle best! I had an incredibly smooth transaction buying this car. These guys are the best!"
- Shannon B.

Apart from our praise, and the praise of our customers, industry experts are also singing the tune of the Subaru Crosstrek. The 2018 Crosstrek has recently earned a KBB.com "5-Year Cost To Own" award, and recently earned an "Editors' Choice" award by Car and Driver. [1]

Car and Driver had the following to say about the 2018 Crosstrek, "the Crosstrek’s standard all-wheel drive and 8.7 inches of ground clearance set the stage for adventure."  [1]

KBB.com explained their reasoning for giving their "5-Year Cost To Own" award stating, "from the little things -- Apple CarPlay and Android Auto standard at every level -- to the big -- standard all-wheel drive -- everything about the Subaru Crosstrek lines up to make it our 5-Year Cost to Own Awards winner. It also doesn't hurt that the Crosstrek maintains its value over time." [2]

People are falling in love with the Subaru Crosstrek. Discover, for yourself, all the capabilities and features the Subaru Crosstrek has to offer. Love is out there. Find it in a Crosstrek, at Ferguson Subaru.

2017 Impreza Earns Spot on AutoTrader's 'Must Test-Drive' Award, Continuing The Redesigned Sedan's Hot Streak

Subaru gave the Impreza a complete overhaul, for model year 2017. Subaru promised the 2017 Impreza would deliver significantly higher levels of driving pleasure, and boy has it delivered!

The 2017 Subaru Impreza has quickly become a favorite among our Tulsa area shoppers. Just read what one excited, new Impreza owner had to say about their new Subaru:
"We will never buy from another place again! Ferguson Subaru and their amazing staff got us into a car that checked all of our needs and every one of our wants. We looked back in November and met Chester our sales guy. He was great then and when we came back last week he still remembered my list of absolutes. During financing we never felt like we couldn't afford to be there. It was what can we do for you not what could we do for them. Because of all of that we are now the proud owners of a 2017 Subaru Impreza! It is sporty and fun, but the safest car I have ever driven. Subaru will be the only brand we buy for our kids when they start driving, and that says a lot! Ferguson Subaru will be the only dealership we use. We are proud to be part of the Ferguson and Subaru family!"  - Sarah J. 02/03/17

The 2017 Subaru Impreza has impressed more than just our Tulsa area shoppers. AutoTrader is one of the most trusted car-shopping brands. For years, AutoTrader has put together a list of 12 vehicles they believe are best-in-class; vehicles they recommend every new car shopper take for a test drive, before making a final purchase. AutoTrader calls these vehicles their 'Must Test-Drive Award' winners!

The 2017 Subaru Impreza has made AutoTrader's 2017 'Must Test-Drive' Award list!

The 2017 Impreza was the first model to debut a new design language from Subaru. The new look incorporates hexagonal grille and hawk-eye headlights on a more sculptural body. The 2017 Impreza was also the first model to debut Subaru's newest Global Platform architecture. The new platform gives the sedan greater ride comfort, agility, and crash protection.

So far, the newly redesigned sedan has been red hot! Impreza sales for April 2017 increased 66.2% over the same month in 2016 and marked the second time that Impreza has topped 8,000 units in a month. Thanks to these strong numbers, the 2017 Impreza has helped Subaru reach its best April in the history of the company!

Subaru's president and chief operating officer, Thomas Doll, had the following to say about the 2017 Impreza's achievement, "With positive press reaction to the all-new Impreza and upcoming Crosstrek models, we expect even stronger demand as we enter the summer months...We are well positioned for continued success with our crossover models, as well as record sales volume from the all-new Impreza."

Ferguson Subaru has a large selection of 2017 Subaru Impreza models to choose from. Located in Broken Arrow, we're Northeast Oklahoma's premier Subaru dealer. Visit Ferguson Subaru today to test-drive the all-new Impreza!

Subaru Ascent, Subaru's new third-row SUV

Ever since Subaru discontinued the Tribeca, our Tulsa-area shoppers have been asking us, when is Subaru going to offer a third-row SUV? Today, Subaru gave us the answer! Say hello to the Subaru Ascent!

Granted Subaru has only revealed an Ascent concept car, at this point in time. However, the production Ascent will undoubtedly be very similar.

We can hear the praise already. For our Tulsa-area families who have to haul around little ones, a third-row seat is often a necessity. The new Subaru Ascent gives hope to Oklahoma, Subaru shoppers who need an SUV larger than the Outback.

Both the design concept and the production Ascent will feature an all-new turbocharged direct injection boxer engine. The Ascent production model will be based on a modified version of Subaru's Global Platform; which debuted on the 2017 Impreza and can be found on the newly redesigned 2018 Crosstrek. Additionally, we know the upcoming Subaru Ascent will come standard with Subaru's famous Symmetrical All-Wheel drive.

We know the announcement of the new Subaru Ascent is welcome news for our Tulsa-area shoppers have been waiting for a third-row, Subaru SUV. Your wait is almost over. Ferguson Subaru, Northeast Oklahoma's premiere Subaru dealer, is excepting the new Ascent three-row crossover to arrive at our Broken Arrow dealership early 2018.

Best Vehicle For Tulsa Families, the Subaru Outback

Tulsa families are busy. Whether mom and dad are hauling the family to Soccer City Tulsa, driving over to the park for Tulsa Little League baseball practice, or simply waiting in school drop-off lines; the average Tulsa family spends a significant amount of time in the confines of the family vehicle.

With so much time spent inside the family vehicle, it's important to have a vehicle that fits every varying need of the on-the-go, city living lifestyle. Roominess, comfortability, price, and versatility are characteristics usually found on the top of our Tulsa families' lists. For many Tulsa families, the perfect vehicle for the job is the Subaru Outback!

2017 Subaru Outback

The industry's top critics have also taken note of the Outback's advantage as the family vehicle.

The 2017 Subaru Outback recently won U.S. News & World Report’s Best Wagon for Families for the sixth year in a row as part of their 2017 Best Cars for Families awards. U.S. News & World Report praised the Outback stating, "The 2017 Subaru Outback has class-leading cargo capacity, excellent passenger space, and a well-built and durable cabin that make it a good fit for families on the go."

The Subaru Outback also earned a spot on KBB.com's 2017 "12 Best Family Cars" list. The Subaru Outback is a multi-year KBB "Best Family Car award winner." KBB.com's editors had the following to say about why the Subaru Outback continues to make it on the top of their list, "The 2017 Subaru Outback is among the most practical, sensible and versatile vehicles money can buy. Many ingredients go into this Subaru's secret sauce, from its standard all-wheel drive to its fuel efficiency, advanced safety features and stellar resale value. Each is impressive on its own. Combined, they make the Outback a standout."

For 2017, Subaru introduced a new flagship model with Outback Touring. The legendary crossover stands out with an exclusive, eye-catching Brilliant Brown exterior color. Additional defining features include: unique Outback badging, low-profile roof rails in a silver finish along with lower cladding, 18" wheels with a machined finish and dark gray accents, and a Touring-specific dark gray grille. Watch Ferguson Subaru's Joe Glenn present the 2017 Subaru Outback Touring in this video.

Tribeca's Replacement - The Next Large SUV from Subaru

There are many appealing qualities that can explain Subaru's success in America and Oklahoma. Two of the most notable include Subaru’s long-lasting value and symmetrical all-wheel drive. In fact, 96% of Subaru vehicles sold in the last 10 years are still on the road today, and Subaru has the best-selling all-wheel drive cars in America for the past 6 years!

Subaru's symmetrical all-wheel drive is standard on their entire line-up of vehicles, minus the BRZ. Subaru Symmetrical All-Wheel Drive continually keeps the power routed to all four wheels, ensuring an outstanding grip in snow, rain or rough road. It's one of the top reasons Tulsa area drivers are turning to Subaru.

While all these qualities are great, there's one thing that's been missing in Subaru's arsenal, for quite some time, and that is a large SUV. Not since Subaru discontinued the Tribeca has there been a Subaru vehicle that can fit up to seven passengers. We hear it all the time from our customers. They want a Subaru that can hold more people. After all, using Subaru's symmetrical all-wheel drive to explore the great outdoors is much funnier when you can bring along friends and family. Subaru recently unveiled a new concept that gives hope for such a vehicle!

In November, Subaru introduced the all-new Subaru VIZIV-7 SUV concept at the 2016 Los Angeles Auto Show. The name gives away its biggest appeal, VIZIV-7; as in it can carry up to seven passengers! VIZIV is a name derived from Vision for Innovation. The VIZIV-7 concept has three-row seating, and gives us a prototype for the next large SUV from Subaru.

At the release of the Subaru VIZIV-7 SUV concept, Subaru promised a production version of the large SUV will be introduced to the North American market in early 2018. Subaru's corporate executive vice president, Takeshi Tachimori, stated “We know customers in this segment want a full-sized vehicle and the next 3-row from Subaru will be the biggest Subaru vehicle ever.”

So to our Tulsa-area shoppers, be patient. It won't be long before Ferguson Subaru will be able to offer a 7-passenger Subaru! The large SUV will undoubtedly be fitted with Subaru's all-important symmetrical all-wheel drive. Just imagine the possibilities!

Our Pursuit Of Making Knowledge Available To As Many Minds As Possible

Ferguson Subaru is proud to call Oklahoma home. While there is plenty for Oklahoma to be proud about, it's well known that the education system in our state is hurting. According to the National Education Association, Oklahoma ranks 49th in expenditures per student [1] and 48th in average salaries for public school teachers [2]

On top of being paid well below the national average, Oklahoma teachers, on average, spend up to $500 of their own money, each year, on supplies for their classrooms. Needless to say, it's not always easy to be a teacher in the state of Oklahoma.

At Ferguson Subaru we have a Love Promise commitment to making a positive impact in the world in which we live and work. It’s our aim to spread this impact as far as we can. As part of our Subaru Loves Learning initiative - to make the pursuit of knowledge available to as many minds as possible - Ferguson Subaru teamed up with Kendall Whittier Elementary for our 2016 Subaru School Supply Drive.

Kendall-Whittier is an elementary school located in north-central Tulsa, just west of the University of Tulsa campus. The school has been providing students in the area a place to grow and learn for generations. Kendall-Whittier Elementary is a lighthouse to our community. According to the school, “As a Title I school, we don’t require that students bring school supplies at the beginning of the year to respect the limited financial situations of many of our families.”

For the 2016 Subaru School Supply Drive, Ferguson Subaru raised school supplies during the month of August. At the end of the month, our Ferguson team, along with Fergie Bear - our Tulsa-area community mascot - drove a stuffed Subaru Crosstrek to Kendall-Whittier Elementary, and presented teachers with the donations. In the spirit of making a positive impact, Ferguson Subaru also donated $500 to Kendall Whittier Elementary!

Kendall-Whittier Elementary Principal, Ronda Kesler with Fergie Bear

Ferguson Subaru’s focus on education in the month of August and September was part of the Subaru Love Promise, a pledge to do right in our communities and the world.

The Perfect Back-To-School Vehicle For Your Family, the 2016 Subaru Impreza!

The school year is just around the corner. Parents, teachers, and students, across the Tulsa Metro, are all preparing for the first day of class. Coweta students are the first to hit the classrooms, on August 11th when Coweta Public Schools is scheduled to return to class. Broken Arrow, Bixby, and Owasso Public Schools are all set to begin classes on August 18th, while Jenks Public Schools begins the following day. Tulsa Public School students return August 22. And finally, Sand Springs students will enter the classroom on August 23rd.

While teachers and students prepare to return to the classroom, parents are getting their vehicles prepped for shuttle duty; as they begin the hustle and bustle of getting their students to and from every school function and activity. While it’s important for parents to run through their student’s back-to-school supply checklist, it’s also important to make sure the family vehicle is up to the task for another school year.

Safety and practicality are both important factors for a student-hauling vehicle. Style might be a desirable characteristic, as well – let’s face it, no kid wants to get dropped off at school in an eyesore. So what vehicle does Ferguson Subaru recommend your family for the return of school? How about the 2016 Subaru Impreza

The 2016 Subaru Impreza was recently named to Kelly Blue Book’s '10 Best Back-To-School Cars of 2016' for its value, style, and safety! It’s a vehicle both our Tulsa-area parents and students can be proud of!

The Impreza is built around Subaru’s proven Ring-shaped Reinforcement Frame body structure for exemplary collision protection. It’s equipped with active safety features including a rear-vision camera, Vehicle Dynamics Control that combines stability and traction control functions, and 4-wheel disc Anti-lock Brake System.

Thanks to these active safety features the 2016 Impreza earned a 2016 IIHS TOP SAFETY PICK award and, when equipped with optional EyeSight Driver Assist Technology, earned the 2016 IIHS TOP SAFETY PICK+.

Furthermore, the 2016 Subaru Impreza achieves the highest fuel economy of any gasoline All-Wheel Drive car available in the United States! That means as a parent, you can take your student to more school activities, while stopping at the pump less often. And to top it all off, with its head-turning style, we’re sure your kid will relish being dropped off, in front of their friends, in the 2016 Impreza.

Before the school year official kicks off come on down to Ferguson Subaru, in Broken Arrow. Test drive the new 2016 Subaru Impreza with your kids. You’ll be hooked from the start in the 2016 Impreza. The 2016 Subaru Impreza is a clear, smart choice.

The past two years TBRO has held the event at Chisholm Trail South, next to the NSU Broken Arrow campus. The event is a wagging' good time for the whole family, and Ferguson Subaru is proud to be a long-time sponsor of the event.

TBRO is a 501(c)3 non-profit; volunteer ran organization committed to rescuing unwanted and abandoned purebred Boxers in the state of Oklahoma. According to the group's Facebook page, they started out rescuing dogs on a small scale in the Tulsa area, and grew to become a statewide organization. TBRO, "rescues nearly 400 Boxers a year from all over the state of Oklahoma. Many of our dogs available for adoption and our foster homes are located in Oklahoma City, as well as Tulsa."

Funds raised from Bark Walk help support The Boxer Rescue of Oklahoma by allowing the organization continue to save the lives of homeless animals and help promote animal welfare.

Subaru Announces New Third-Row Crossover In The Works

According to the 2010 U.S. Census, there are 246,290 families in the Tulsa Metro. One thing we know is important for these families when purchasing a new vehicle is accommodation. A family vehicle needs to be able to accommodate varying passenger needs and the needs of each individual family member. Whether it’s accommodating infants who need to be within easy reach, or accommodating fully grown adults wanting as much legroom as possible; accommodation is a must for any family vehicle.

Subaru’s retired 3-row crossover model, the Subaru Tribeca, fit that bill nicely. Unfortunately, Subaru halted production of the Tribeca back in 2014. However, we’ve got some exciting news our Tulsa area families are going to want to hear – Subaru has announced plans to replace the Tribeca and put a new third-row crossover into its lineup!

That’s good news for Tulsa area families or anyone in Oklahoma who needs a vehicle with third-row capability. There’s just one slight catch, we’re going to have to wait until 2018 to be able to bring the new Subaru to our Broken Arrow dealership.

What do we know about Subaru’s new planned third-row crossover? Not a lot, but we know it will be larger than the Tribeca; which translates to more accommodating capability. We know it won’t be called the Tribeca. Subaru hasn’t released the name of their new Tribeca-replacing third row crossover, but for now we’ll just call it the 2018 Hurry-up-and-Get-Here Subaru. It will likely carry a name synonymous with outdoor adventure, consistent with the company’s other successful crossovers; the Subaru Outback, Subaru Forester and Subaru Crosstrek. And last, but not least, we know it’s a Subaru,  and Subaru vehicles are known for long-lasting reliability.

The Tribeca adapted well to Oklahoma life. It was a beloved option for our Tulsa area families, and it has been missed at our Broken Arrow Subaru dealership. A significant number of our customers come in asking for a vehicle with third row capability. That’s why we’re excited about Subaru’s plan for a new third-row crossover. We expect the new vehicle to pick up where the Tribeca left off and do quite well here in the Tulsa Metro.

We’ll release more information about the new crossover as soon as Subaru makes another announcement of the vehicle. For now, stay tuned to our Subaru blog and our Facebook page to get the latest Subaru news and updates. Check out our new Subaru inventory online at www.FergusonSubaru.com.

Ferguson Subaru Donates School Supplies

Ferguson Subaru loves to give back to our community. One of the areas we believe is worth investing in is education. Our team is committed to helping the advancement of learning and learning opportunities in our community.

Looking at local, Tulsa area schools we learned that, on average, teachers spend up to $500 of their own money each year on supplies for their classrooms. As advocates of learning, that didn’t sit well with us at Ferguson Subaru. We wanted to help provide the necessary supplies teachers need to teach, and students need to learn. So, we decided to hold a school supply drive.

During the months of August and September, Ferguson Subaru collected school supplies from generous donators in the Broken Arrow and Tulsa area. Our goal was to “Stuff a Subaru,” or stuff a Subaru Forester to be specific.

By the end of our supply drive, we had quite a bit of school supplies in the back of our Subaru Forester (thank you to all who donated). The next step was to get those supplies into the hands of teachers and students. We reached out to Kendall-Whittier Elementary School, in Tulsa.

After our supply drive was over, we drove the Subaru Forester, stuffed with supplies, over to the elementary school! We are honored to have the opportunity to work with the teachers and staff at Kendall-Whittier! Tulsa community mascot, Fergie Bear, was present to help drop off the supplies! A $250 donation was also given to the school through AdoptAClassroom.org.

Ronda Kesler, principal at Kendall-Whittier, had the following to say about the donation,
“I would like to express appreciation on behalf of my staff for the delightful trunk of gifts that were delivered to Kendall-Whittier ES by Fergie Bear and your gracious staff…We are so grateful and blessed to have been the recipient of this year’s Ferguson Subaru school supply drive. Please accept our ‘Thank You’ from my staff and students!”

Ferguson Subaru’s focus on education in the month of August and September was part of the Subaru Love Promise, a pledge to do right in our communities and the world.

'STUFF A SUBARU' School Supply Drive

Aside from your parents, can you think of someone who inspired you, pushed you, and prepared you for life's journey? Many of us owe a "thank you" to our teachers. Teachers leave lasting impressions on our lives and on the lives of our children.

The work of a teacher impacts the community as a whole. As Helen Caldicott once said, “Teachers, I believe, are the most responsible and important members of society because their professional efforts affect the fate of the earth.” Given the right tools, our teachers have the ability to shape not only the future of Tulsa and the surrounding communities but effectively the world. There's just one problem; not every teacher is equipped with the right tools and/or resources.

On average, teachers spend up to $500 of their own money each year on supplies for their classrooms. This is a fact that doesn't sit well with us at Ferguson Subaru. We love learning, and we love our teachers. We want to see the Tulsa/Broken Arrow area, our community, continue to grow and flourish, and we know the role of the teacher is vital in this. So, we decided to do something about it; something to help our local teachers.

We decided to 'Stuff A Subaru' with school supplies.

We decided to host a school supply drive, but we need your help!
With your help, we can make sure Tulsa-area students have what they need to succeed.
