3 NEW SUBARU MOVELS TAKE TOP HONORS IN KBB 2015 BEST RESALE VALUE AWARDS

How will your life look 5 years from now? If you're anything like us, it's difficult to say. Have you ever created a one year plan? You started out with a clear road map to stick to, but end up taking unexpected turns into uncharted territory- not where you originally planned to end up. So, how are we expected to know what's in store for us 5 years out?

What if you told you, there's one thing you can count on. That’s, confidence - confidence in purchasing a new Subaru. Subaru recently earned the coveted Best Resale Value Brand by Kelley Blue Book in Three Vehicle Segment Awards for 2015. The Best Resale Value Awards recognize 2015 model-year vehicles for their projected retained value through the initial five-year ownership period. Like all of KBB.com’s new- and used-vehicle information, this award is designed to help consumers make more informed car-buying decisions.

Winning this achievement gives Ferguson Subaru customers a clear indication that if they were to purchase a new Subaru today, they'd still be smiling 5 years down the road; smiling with confidence that their Subaru has maintained its value through the years.

The three Subaru models that took home the 2015 Best Resale Value Award include the following in their respected segment:

  • Compact Car Category: 2015 Subaru Impreza
  • Sporty Compact Car Category: 2015 Subaru WRX
  • Mid-Size Car Category: 2015 Subaru Legacy

Here at the Ferguson Subaru, we stand behind every vehicle we sell new or used. Stop in to our showroom located at 1501 N. Elm Place Broken Arrow, OK, to take a test drive and learn more about any one of the award-winning vehicles we have in stock.

ALL SUBARU MODELS RECEIVE IIHS TOP SAFETY PICK (TSP) FOR 2015

Subaru has become synonymous with the word safety. Why you might ask? Maybe it’s Subaru’s patented Symmetrical All-Wheel Drive, maybe it’s Subaru’s innovative Eyesight feature, or maybe it’s because Subaru vehicles keep taking home the Insurance Institute for Highway Safety’s “Top Safety Pick” and “Top Safety Pick+” awards.

During the latest rounds of testing, ALL SUBARU MODELS RECEIVE IIHS TOP SAFETY PICK (TSP) FOR 2015.

All Subaru models, including the Subaru Impreza, Subaru Outback, Subaru Legacy, Subaru BRZ, Subaru XV Crosstrek, and Subaru Forester.

Top Safety Pick+ (TSP+) is the highest standard of safety the Institute can award. Earning the award for every Subaru in their vehicle line-up is quite impressive; however, this is not the only year Subaru’s earned the top safety pick for every model in their line-up. In fact, Subaru is the only manufacturer with IIHS Top Safety Picks FOR ALL MODELS SIX YEARS RUNNING!

What’s more impressive is Subaru continues their safety streak, despite stricter qualifications. The Insurance Institute for Highway Safety has upped their standards for their Top Safety Pick and last year added a fifth test to the curriculum, the small overlap front test.

To win 2015 Top Safety Pick, a vehicle must have “Good” ratings in all four tests of high-speed front and side crash tests, a rollover test, and evaluations of seat/head restraints for protection against neck injuries in rear impacts. In addition, “Good” or “Acceptable” performance in a small overlap front test introduced in 2012 is also required. The same level of performance in those tests, along with an “Advanced” or “Superior” rating for front crash prevention, is required for the higher accolade, 2015 Top Safety Pick+.

Much like any test, some succeed while others fail. You could consider Subaru than an over-achiever.  Time and time again, Subaru models have been recognized for their safety features, like Subaru’s patented Subaru Eyesight.

Five of the seven vehicles also earn 2015 Top Safety Pick+ status; Subaru Forester, Legacy, Outback, Impreza, and XV Crosstrek, when equipped with optional EyeSight® Driver Assist Technology.

Subaru EyeSight is an automated braking system. Subaru Eyesight is the highest rated front crash prevention system currently on the market. Subaru Eyesight technology is available in the Outback, Legacy, and Forester models.  Learn more about Subaru Eyesight here.

Many of these Top Safety Pick+ vehicles are available in our new car inventory.

2015 Subaru Outback Released

Subaru claims the Outback is the world's first sport/utility wagon. It's grown to become the vehicle-of-choice for adventure-loving, trail climbing, nature-packing, outdoor enthusiast. It's been the best-selling All-Wheel Drive car in America for the past five years. And if, love is what makes a Subaru, a Subaru; then the tradition of the Subaru Outback has truly left its heart-felt mark on American drivers. But, as the famous author Pearl S. Buck wrote, "Love dies only when growth stops." Subaru has just given us more to love with release of the new-generation Outback. The '15 Subaru Outback was recently during the 2014 Subaru New York Auto Show.

The original Outback established a template for many competitive crossover models that followed, and the new-generation 2015 Outback exemplifies Subaru’s mastery of outdoors-oriented vehicle engineering and further strengthens the melding of passenger- car and SUV attributes that crossover shoppers seek.

The all-new Outback was designed from the ground-up to enable adventures and spark spontaneity. The new 2015 Subaru Outback allows drivers to go even bigger, climb even steeper, and roam even farther! Its bold new design delivers an even more compelling blend of on-road agility, off-pavement control, ride comfort, interior refinement and safety technology.

Some of the redesigned features on the new 2015 Subaru Outback include:

  • A completely redesigned, slightly larger chassis, exterior and interior design (most roomiest Outback ever)
  • More sporty, more sleek, off-road ability and look
  • A new front fascia that combines the hexagonal grille and bumper into one smooth piece
  • Hawk-eye LED head lights and tail lights
  • A thinner underbelly cladding that creates a sleeker look, but still prevents paint chipping when going off-road
  • A steeper windshield and a slimmer A-pillar to aerodynamics and increase fuel efficiency
  • An all-new, surprisingly spacious 143.6 cubic foot interior with upgraded materials for passenger comfort
  • A new retractable roof cross bars and new tie-downs that now slide back and forth, to accommodate larger and smaller items including bikes, canoes, and kayaks
  • Improved fuel economy at the top of AWD crossover class with estimated ratings of 25 mpg city / 33 mpg highway for Outback 2.5i
  • Lineartronic CVT now standard on all models
  • New available Rear Vehicle Detection System featuring Blind Spot Detection, Lane Change Assist and Rear Cross Traffic Alert

Two other features worth noting on the new Subaru Outback include: enhanced capability on the Outback's legendary Subaru Standard Symmetrical All-Wheel with X-Mode, and newly enhanced Safety features with Subaru's Eyesight.

Standard Symmetrical All-Wheel Drive gives you exceptional traction in any environment or road condition. X-Mode with Hill Descent Control can be activated with the push of a button. It takes control of the AWD, transmission, engine, brakes, and other components to help safely navigate steep inclines and slippery surfaces to take your adventure that much further. The 2015 Outback's four-cylinder, 2.5-liter BOXER engine (or 3.6-liter, six-cylinder on the Limited model) increases power slightly from its predecessor, 175 hp vs. 173 hp as before.

The 2015 Outback offers the latest version of the EyeSight driver-assist system with an improved camera. Available for Outback Premium and Limited trim lines, EyeSight uses Subaru-developed stereo camera technology and integrates Vehicle Lane Departure Warning, Pre-Collision Braking, and Adaptive Cruise Control. Subaru's Eyesight was the highest-rated front crash prevention system by the Insurance Institute for Highway Safety (IIHS).
