ALL SUBARU MODELS RECEIVE IIHS TOP SAFETY PICK (TSP) FOR 2015

Subaru has become synonymous with the word safety. Why you might ask? Maybe it’s Subaru’s patented Symmetrical All-Wheel Drive, maybe it’s Subaru’s innovative Eyesight feature, or maybe it’s because Subaru vehicles keep taking home the Insurance Institute for Highway Safety’s “Top Safety Pick” and “Top Safety Pick+” awards.

During the latest rounds of testing, ALL SUBARU MODELS RECEIVE IIHS TOP SAFETY PICK (TSP) FOR 2015.

All Subaru models, including the Subaru Impreza, Subaru Outback, Subaru Legacy, Subaru BRZ, Subaru XV Crosstrek, and Subaru Forester.

Top Safety Pick+ (TSP+) is the highest standard of safety the Institute can award. Earning the award for every Subaru in their vehicle line-up is quite impressive; however, this is not the only year Subaru’s earned the top safety pick for every model in their line-up. In fact, Subaru is the only manufacturer with IIHS Top Safety Picks FOR ALL MODELS SIX YEARS RUNNING!

What’s more impressive is Subaru continues their safety streak, despite stricter qualifications. The Insurance Institute for Highway Safety has upped their standards for their Top Safety Pick and last year added a fifth test to the curriculum, the small overlap front test.

To win 2015 Top Safety Pick, a vehicle must have “Good” ratings in all four tests of high-speed front and side crash tests, a rollover test, and evaluations of seat/head restraints for protection against neck injuries in rear impacts. In addition, “Good” or “Acceptable” performance in a small overlap front test introduced in 2012 is also required. The same level of performance in those tests, along with an “Advanced” or “Superior” rating for front crash prevention, is required for the higher accolade, 2015 Top Safety Pick+.

Much like any test, some succeed while others fail. You could consider Subaru than an over-achiever.  Time and time again, Subaru models have been recognized for their safety features, like Subaru’s patented Subaru Eyesight.

Five of the seven vehicles also earn 2015 Top Safety Pick+ status; Subaru Forester, Legacy, Outback, Impreza, and XV Crosstrek, when equipped with optional EyeSight® Driver Assist Technology.

Subaru EyeSight is an automated braking system. Subaru Eyesight is the highest rated front crash prevention system currently on the market. Subaru Eyesight technology is available in the Outback, Legacy, and Forester models.  Learn more about Subaru Eyesight here.

Many of these Top Safety Pick+ vehicles are available in our new car inventory.

Ferguson Subaru Dog Days of Winter Events: Share the Love

Christmas is fast approaching. Soon we'll all be gathered with friends and family, sitting around a Christmas tree, unwrapping presents and signing along to Christmas songs. You're probably making plans right now; trying to get everyone together in the same home.

Ferguson Subaru wants to remind you that while you'll likely have a warm place to celebrate Christmas there are hundreds of homeless animals in our community that won't.

Ferguson Subaru host special events and activities especially for our four-legged friends. One such event is our Pet Adoption Event. We've held our Pet Adoption Event the past two consecutive years at our Subaru dealership in Broken Arrow, each year in December.

This year’s Ferguson Subaru Pet Adoption Event will be held December 11, 2014!

Our Pet Adoption Event is made possible by the Tulsa SPCA. The Tulsa SPCA will visit us with their MAC Truck (mobile adoption center)! The Tulsa SPCA will bring nearly a dozen pets in need of a home this Christmas including several adoptable dogs and cats.

We are proud support our local Tulsa-area animal rescue and adoption organizations. We are proud to work with the Tulsa SPCA. We hope you'll visit us December 11th and give a warm, loving home to a pet in need this holiday.

The Ferguson Subaru Pet Adoption Event is just one of two events to look forward to during our Subaru Dog Days of Winter. Our Dog Days of Winter is part of our Subaru Share the Love events.

Subaru of America has helped support nearly 300 animal shelters, grant more than 600 wishes, fund over one million meal deliveries to seniors, and support over 70 national parks through the "Share the Love" event. The Subaru "Share the Love" Event is held every year between November and January.

We're hosting a puppy meet and greet for our other Dog Days of Winter Event. Our "Guide Dogs for the Blind: Meet the Puppies in Training" event will be held the day after our Pet Adoption Event, on December 12, 2014. We hope you'll join us for both events!

http://www.fergusonsubaru.com/guide-dogs-for-the-blind.htm

Subaru encourages each Subaru dealership across the country to partner with one local charity. This year Ferguson Subaru has partnered with Guide Dogs for the Blind (GDB).

As our designated Share the Love partner, Guide Dogs for the Blind is one of four organizations our Ferguson Subaru customers who purchase a new Subaru between now and January 2, 2015 can choose to have Subaru donate $250 dollars to after their new car purchase.

Guide Dogs for the Blind empowers lives by creating exceptional partnerships between people, dogs, and communities. Guide dogs for the Blind envisions a world with greater inclusion, opportunity and
independence by optimizing the unique capabilities of people and dogs.

GDB puppies in training go through extensive training program designed to teach them how to lead a person who is visually impaired safely around obstacles. GDB puppies in training are also trained to have impeccable manners and to avoid distractions (such as cats!). In addition, all GDB puppies in training possess an eagerness to please and a willingness to work. GDB puppies' extensive training also ensures that there is compatible in every area from communication styles to personalities.

We hope you'll join us on December 13 on our Subaru showroom to meet these amazing pups who are going to change the lives of people in our community who are visually impaired. For more info for our Subaru Meet the Puppies in Training Event click here.

Ferguson Subaru More 2 Love Launch Event a Success

Community pride is a big deal in Green Country. Nowhere is community pride more on display then at a local Friday night high school football game. Simply attend a local Jenks, Bixby, Broken Arrow, Owasso, or Tulsa high school football game and the sense of community pride is palpable. Residents in our Green Country communities have built strong bonds and continually support one another. One thing we’ve seen in the thirteen years since we first opened our Subaru dealership and brought Subaru to Tulsa has been a similar sense of pride shared by our Subaru customers. There’s a new community found here in Green Country – a Subaru community.

Subaru owners love there Subaru’s. They enjoy going on adventures in their Subaru’s with friends whether to the dog park, a nearby camping site, or a local bike trail. Subaru owners enjoy hanging out with other Subaru owners. We see time and time again Subaru owners coming together, building life-long friendships, and growing this new Subaru community.

We love opening our doors for the Subaru community, and that’s exactly what we did last week. We opened the doors to our showroom for Subaru enthusiasts, Subaru owners, Subaru followers, and to the Subaru community. We welcomed anyone and everyone who wanted to get a first look at the new 2015 Subaru Legacy and 2015 Subaru Outback. No surprise, we had a great turnout and an even greater time!

It’s not hard to draw a crowd with great products like the new 2015 Subaru Outback and the new 2015 Subaru Legacy. During our Ferguson Subaru More 2 Love Launch Event we had the two models on display with our team of friendly, dedicated Subaru sales associates available for questions. Our Subaru team also provided free refreshments and treats. We had over a dozen Subaru fans come to our More 2 Love event. Attendants and our sales associates had a great time learning about the new Outback and Legacy.

Subaru Has More Top Safety Pick Awards Than Any Other Brand. Added to the List, the 2015 Legacy and 2015 Outback.

The newest models in Subaru's line-up, the 2015 Subaru Legacy and 2015 Subaru Outback, have earned the prestigious, and highest safety title from the Institute of Highway Safety (IIHS), Top Safety Pick+.

The all-new 2015 Subaru Legacy received a 'superior' rating for the sedan's crash safety prevention system, in large part thanks to the its Subaru EyeSight system - EyeSight sees problems before they occur and initiates action to help avoid the trouble utilizing two cameras mounted by the rearview mirror.

Subaru Takes Top Picks

Consumer Reports' list of Top Picks, includes 10 vehicle segments. The list for Top Picks is based on reliability, safety, and test performance. One vehicle is selected in each segment. The new 2014 'Top List' has recently been released, and no surprise - Subaru takes top spot. However, Subaru did not simply earn one Top Pick, but two. In fact, only Subaru, and one other automaker, earned more than one spot.

Consumer Reports says, “Each is an exceptional, well-rounded vehicle, chosen from more than 260 we’ve recently tested. They have excelled in our testing, are reliable, and have performed well in independent crash tests. In other words, it’s hard to go wrong with any of them.”

Subaru takes Top Pick for the 'Small SUV' and the 'Compact Car' segment
Subaru's Top Picks from Consumer Reports:

Small SUV
"The Forester climbed to the top of its class after its 2014 redesign. With a space-efficient design and large windows and doors, this user-friendly SUV provides the easiest access and best visibility in its category. It has an excellent driving position, simple controls, and one of the roomiest rear seats in the category. Plus the Forester delivers a class-leading 26 mpg overall and a frugal 35 on the highway. OK, the ride is a bit firm and the in-car electronics are behind the curve; there’s still room for improvement." - Consumer Reports [1]

2014 Subaru Forester

 Compact Car

"The all-wheel-drive Impreza gives you a lot for its affordable price. Both sedan and hatchback versions are well-rounded packages, with nimble handling and an impressively compliant, absorbent ride that’s among the best in its class. Fuel economy is also commendable for an AWD car. And the Impreza is easy to live with, thanks to a roomy interior, spacious rear seat, simple controls, and refreshingly good visibility. Our only serious gripe is pronounced road noise. But it’s no deal breaker." - Consumer Reports [1]

Billionaire, Warren Buffett, seen driving a Subaru

Warren Buffett who has many nicknames, "Wizard of Omaha", "Oracle of Omaha", or the "Sage of Omaha," - all with a references to his origins in Omaha, Nebraska, is well known as one of the wealthiest man alive. In 2012, Time Magazine named Buffett one of the most influential people in the world. Although Buffett is known to be one of the super-rich, he's also known for his philanthropy efforts. He's pledged to give away 99% of his fortune to philanthropic causes. He's not the type of man that parades around his wealth. But he is the type of man that drives a Subaru.

In a recent article by AutoEvolution, Warren Buffett is seen driving a red Subaru Outback.

The article goes on to say that, "The funny thing is Buffett is actually one of Ford’s share holders, which means he is driving a competitor's new model. In fact, he recently called the Subaru Outback a "real threat" to one of his favorite businesses."

Subaru Love Promise | Our Pledge to Greater Tulsa and Green Country

Nobody likes broken promises….but indubitably at some point in our lives we’ve been let down by a promise. Some people have a pessimistic view when it comes to promises, and live more by the motto that promises are meant to be broken. And, it is true that promises can be broken as quickly as they were made. That’s why it’s a special thing when an automotive company comes along and sticks to their promises.

Subaru of America says that love is what makes a Subaru, a Subaru. It’s not a love based on monetary gain, or about pushing sales numbers. And, it’s not just simply a word within a slogan. It’s a love for their customers, a love for the environment, and a love for life. It’s a promise.

That’s why Subaru created the Subaru Love Promise. It's a pledge to do right by the communities in which every Subaru employee lives and works. Every member of Subaru, from top to bottom, has signed it. The Subaru culture is spreading, and Subaru customers can feel the love. Subaru dealers across the country, including Ferguson Subaru right here in Broken Arrow, Oklahoma; have pledged to uphold this promise. This is our promise to continue making a positive impact in the world and in our neighborhoods.

Subaru of America and Ferguson Subaru believe in making the world a better place. That's why Subaru of America has built fuel-efficient vehicles in eco-friendly plants. That's why, over the past 20 years, Subaru of America has donated more than 50 million dollars to a variety of causes and charities. That’s why Ferguson Subaru has worked closely with several non-profit organizations in our community. That’s why Ferguson Subaru has donated to several causes that have an impact in our community, and that’s why were extending the Subaru Love and the Ferguson Advantage to Tulsa, Owasso, Bixby, Jenks, Green Country, Oklahoma, and beyond.

Causes We Promise to Support

It’s our aim to spread the Love Promise as far as possible. That’s why we work with a diverse range of organizations. Many of them fall under one of these areas of focus.

NEW BRZ LINEUP FLAUNTS A LIMITED EDITION

For those of you who thought you knew what to expect from the 2015 Subaru BRZ lineup, you thought wrong. Subaru has come out with the limited edition Series Blue Special Edition that offers that classic sports care look with a few extras to make it particularly appealing.

The first thing that makes this car so special is the most obvious: there will only be 1,000 produced in the U.S. 500 of those will be in Subaru's well known Pearl Blue body color and the other half will be in Crystal White Pearl. Both color cars will receive the same all black, limited edition STI body kit and wheels.

As for the interior, the BRZ Series Blue flaunts sport-style black and blue leather seats with blue stitching, with the steering wheel sticking to the same theme. The new BRZ hosts the same 2.0L-box engine that produces 200 hp.

For more information on the Blue Series, the rest of the new 2015 BRZ lineup, or another Subaru model that's caught your eye, you can visit us at Ferguson Superstore, 1601 N elm Place Broken Arrow, OK 74012.

Highly Anticipated 2015 Subaru Legacy Gets Great Reviews

“Live, love, laugh, leave a legacy.”
 - A quote from author and professional speaker, Stephen Covey

We believe this quote sums up Subaru of America's philosophy to a tee. Subaru owners are known for living life to the fullest and love to share their interests with others. Subaru is a company that celebrates life everyday - you only have to look at their Subaru Badges to find each Subaru driver's favorite lifestyle and hobby.

What's life without love? The second word in Covey's quote aligns so well with Subaru's philosophy, it shares a reciprocal feeling in Subaru's slogan, Love, It's What Makes A Subaru, A Subaru. And who can't resist a good laugh at Subaru's commercials following the four-legged, sedan-driving Barkley family? And then there's Legacy. That last word Covey mentions. What is a legacy? Legacy can be described as something that has been handed down from one generation to the next. Well, Subaru has that covered as well.

The Subaru Legacy was first introduced in 1989. While the midsize-sedan may not be Subaru's highest selling model (well behind Subaru's SUV & CUV line-up; the Subaru Outback, SubaruForester, and Subaru XV Crosstrek), the Subaru Legacy has been a major staple in Subaru's portfolio for more than a  quarter century - with great success we might add. 96% of Legacy models sold in the past 10 years are still on the road!

2015 Subaru Legacy

If you follow our blog, then you may be aware that we are anxiously awaiting the arrival of the 2015 Subaru Legacy. The 2015 Legacy will mark the sixth generation of the car. The Legacy has been completely redesigned and offers a compelling blend of standout design, interior refinement, safety technology and higher fuel efficiency.

If we could, we would love to give the engineers over at Subaru a fist bump. Because, while we might not have the Legacy yet at our Broken Arrow dealership, several industry leading vehicle review critics have had the opportunity of test driving the midsized sedan. And the consensus is coming in as expected - high praises all.

KBB - "The Legacy has always earned accolades for its sophisticated all-wheel-drive system, but now it's hardly a one-trick pony -- it's a real contender among midsize sedans." [1]

Autoblog.com - "....those would-be Camry buyers with a taste for something a little more unique will end up owning what we consider to be a better overall car." [2]

Autoweek - "Smooth, capable and fairly quick in 3.6-liter trim, the Legacy is now as mainstream as the rest of the midsize-sedan segment. Bundle that with the famous Subaru all-wheel drive and decent fuel economy, and the Legacy now has a chance to expand past its Northwest and New England enclaves." [3]

2015 Subaru Legacy

The 2015 Subaru Legacy will come in 4 trim levels. The 2015 Legacy 2.5i with an MSRP price at $21,695, the 2015 Legacy 2.5i Premium with an MSRP price at $23,495, the 2015 Legacy 2.5i Limited with an MSRP price at $26,495, and the flagship of the sedan line-up, the 2015 Legacy 3.6R Limited with a MSRP price starting at $29,595.

Models with the 4-cylinder engine are estimated to get up to 36 mpg, while the 6-cylinder models have an EPA estimated 29 mpg.

The 2015 Subaru Legacy 2.5i comes standard with Lineartronic Continuously Variable Transmission (CVT) with manual mode and paddle shift control switches and Subaru Symmetrical All-Wheel Drive. The 2.5 liter Boxer engine has increased to 175 horsepower.

The Legacy 2.5i Premium offers the industry’s leading driver assist technology, Subaru Eyesight®, and also adds Blind Spot Detection (BSD) with Lane Change Assist (LCA.) It uses radar detection to assist the driver by detecting vehicles on either side of the vehicle that may be in the driver’s blind spots.

The new Subaru Legacy will be built at the Subaru of Indiana Automotive Plant in Lafayette, Indiana . The Indiana assembly plant uses an environmentally-friendly plant process and is recognized as a zero landfill facility. It's the only U.S. automotive plant designated as a Backyard Wildlife Habitat by the National Wildlife Federation.

Subaru Launch Control | Subaru Rally America

Rally, not to be mistaken with Rallycross, is a sport that dates back to 1911. It's a sport that combines the fastest, most high-tech sports cars with the most dare-devil, highly-trained professional drivers and throws them on the most parallel of courses. Rally stages vary from asphalt mountain passes to rough forest tracks, from ice and snow to desert sand. Rallycross, on the other hand, races on a closed mixed-surface racing circuit.

Subaru Rally Driver, David Higgins, at Sno*Drift
The top rally team in America is Subaru Rally Team USA. Subaru Rally Team USA has won three Rally American Championships in a row, including the 2013 Championship. Winning just one rally Championship is a major feat-in-and-of itself. A feat that takes a lot of blood, sweat, and tears. There are a lot of races in one rally season, each one pushing the drivers to their limits and testing their car's performance and reliability. Behind the excitement of the races, there's a lot that goes into making a championship rally team. Thanks to Subaru's web series, Launch Control, rally fans can get a behind-the-scenes look at what makes Subaru's rally team's success possible.

Last season pushed the Subaru team to the limits. Driving, David Higgins, and co-driver, Craig Drew overcame personal injuries, mechanic break-downs, and stiff competition for the hardest fought victory of their career. Top spot during the season was neck-and-neck going into the championship race. The decisive victory came down to the last day, down to the last few hours. If you missed the first season's episodes, you can check out season 1 of Launch Control here.

Now, Higgins and the Subaru rally crew are back at work. The 2014 American Rally season is under way. Season two of launch control has already been full of surprises and held no shortage of rally action. Higgins has already claimed victory at the opening round, and Travis Pastrana has rejoined the Subaru rally team after a stint in NASCAR. You can watch as Pastrana, Higgins and the rest of the Subaru rally crew compete to make rally history, in season 2 of launch control. You can watch every episode as they are released at Ferguson Subaru.com.

The vehicle that helped Subaru Rally win 3 consecutive championships, the Subaru WRX STi, has proven its performance and reliability. Launch Control viewers will soon be able to see the next evolution of the Subaru Rally and Subaru Rallycross car.
The 2015 Subaru WRX STi will soon replace the 2014 WRX STi.

2015 Rallycross WRX STi was debuted at the 2014 New York Auto Show.

The 2015 Rallycross STI was prepared by Vermont SportsCar, home of Subaru Rally Team USA. External design cues include a custom widebody, an STI wing integrated with carbon fiber aerodynamic enhancements, and a classic rally car-style roof ventilation scoop. The 2015 Rallycross STI will feature a 600HP turbocharged Subaru boxer engine mated to a sequential gearbox with Subaru Symmetrical All-Wheel Drive. The 2015 Rallycross STI will also feature an advanced rally-spec suspension. The car rides on Method Race Wheels, wrapped with the new Yokohama GRC spec competition tire.

The 2015 Subaru WRX and WRX STi were both recently awarded an Insurance Institute of Highway Safety (IIHS) 2014 TOP SAFETY PICK award for good performance in each of the Institute’s crashworthiness evaluations, including the small overlap front test.
