Ferguson Subaru Sponsors 8th Annual Ruts N' Guts

Ferguson Subaru was honored to sponsor the 8th annual, 2017 Ruts N' Guts.

2017 Ruts N' Guts
Ruts N' Guts is a weekend-long, professional off-road bicycling (or cyclocross) competition event. Ruts N' Guts draws cyclocross athletes from around the world, and has put Broken Arrow, Oklahoma on the map in the world of international cycling. As in years past, the 2017 Ruts N' Guts was held at Broken Arrow's Chisholm Trail Park; directly next to the Northeastern State University's Broken Arrow campus.

Many participants and spectators, who have attended the event in the past, might have noticed something a little different to this year's Ruts N' Guts. Ferguson Subaru was proud to sponsor a Subaru VIP parking section! The special VIP parking allowed any, and all, participants and spectators, who drive a Subaru, to park on the east side of the parking lot, closest to the race registration and course.

Subaru VIP Parking

In an effort to encourage the up-and-coming youth of cyclocross, and also to give back to the community, Ruts N' Guts works closely with the Broken Arrow Bike Club. This year, after the race, Ruts N' Guts surprised the Broken Arrow Bike Club with a special visitor. Rebecca Gross, one of our Pro Elite Women racer that participated in Ruts N' Guts, surprised students at Rhoades Elementary. She hung out with the kids, gave them tips on how to ride, talked about what it's like being a pro cyclist, and signed autographs. Watch report by KJRH [video below].

In our eyes, this year's Ruts N' Guts was a huge success, both by the tremendous effort of the athletes who competed, but also by the efforts of the Ruts N' Guts organizers to give back to our community. Ferguson Subaru is proud to be a sponsor of Ruts N' Guts.

2017 Impreza's Award-Winning Interior Design Beats the Competition

The 2017 Subaru Impreza has further distanced itself among the competition, as it continues to collect more prestigious awards and accolades. The latest accolade bestowed to the Impreza comes from WardsAuto. The Impreza has been named to WardsAuto’s 2017 ‘10 Best User Experience’ list for intuitive and effective interior features.

WardsAuto is a world-leading provider of automotive insights and analysis. They have served the industry's information needs for more than 90 years. The 2017 Wards' ‘10 Best User Experience’ competition pitted the Impreza against 23 other vehicles. The vehicles were tested and rated by editors on their ability to enhance an individual’s lifestyle and make technology easy to use. Key factors included: user-friendly multimedia system and interior controls, effective driver-assist technology, and overall value.

WardsAuto's senior editor, Tom Murphy, had the following to say about the Subaru Impreza, "The Subaru Impreza is the only other vehicle this year winning both 10 Best Interiors and 10 Best UX honors. But the Impreza, with its all-new StarLink infotainment system, makes the cut for a whole lot less money: out the door for under $30,000 in Limited trim.

In addition to an award-winning interior design and driver assist technology, the 2017 Impreza has the most passenger volume in its class. The model is available as a 5-door or sedan and is offered in four trim levels: 2.0i, 2.0i Premium, 2.0i Sport and 2.0i Limited.

And of course, the Impreza offers drivers Subaru's industry-leading level of safety and security. The 2017 Impreza earned top ratings in all Insurance Institute for Highway Safety (IIHS) evaluations and, when equipped with EyeSight and Steering Responsive Headlights, it is an IIHS 2017 TOP SAFETY PICK+.

2017 SUBARU OUTBACK NAMED TO U.S. NEWS & WORLD REPORT’S BEST NEW CARS FOR TEENS

Perhaps the Subaru commercial, above, best sums up how parents feel when their kids grow up and begin to drive. The commercial shows a father giving driving instruction to his little girl -who, in reality, isn't so little anymore.

As children grow up and begin to drive, many parents think back to when their child took their first baby-steps. Most parents find this transition difficult, as they think back to all the stumbles and falls their child took as they learned to walk - and now they are driving!

There are other statistics out there that make this process even harder for parents. One of those being a study conducted by AAA [1] that states half of teen drives admit to texting while driving.

For all the parents of teen drivers, U.S. News & World Report as recently released their list of the 2017 'Best New Cars for Teens' [2]. This list may help alleviate some of that fear and anxiety.

Not surprisingly, Subaru has made the list! The 2017 Outback was named to U.S. News & World Report’s Best New Cars for Teens for accident prevention and crash protection technologies as well as overall quality.

To be named one of the Best New Cars for Teens, a vehicle must have the best combination of reliability ratings, crash test scores, available advanced driver assistance features and top critics’ recommendations in the U.S. News Best Car rankings in its pricing category.

The 2017 Subaru Outback's proven combination of award-winning safety technology, standard symmetrical all-wheel drive, and exemplary fuel efficiency help the SUV secure its spot on U.S. News & World Report’s Best New Cars for Teens 2017 list.

One of the 2017 Outback industry-leading safety technology features is its Reverse Automatic Braking system. The Reverse Automatic Braking system helps the driver avoid a possible collision when the vehicle is moving in reverse. The system uses four ultrasonic sonar sensors located in the rear bumper cover and can automatically stop the vehicle.

U.S. World News & World Report had the following to say about the 2017 Outback, "Subaru is one of only a few brands that offer a rear automatic braking system, so if your teen backs up without looking, the Outback can stop itself to prevent a collision...It’s hard to argue against the Outback as a top-notch choice for teenage drivers." [3]

Ferguson Subaru is Oklahoma's #1 Subaru dealer. We have a large selection of the 2017 Subaru Outback and 2018 Subaru Outback! We encourage all Oklahoma parents who are looking for a safe, reliable vehicle for their teenager, to come test-drive the Subaru Outback.

Subie Sunday 2017

Ferguson Subaru has been a long-time partner of Broken Arrow's Ruts N' Guts. On June 25, 2017 Ferguson Subaru strengthened our partnership with the Ruts N' Guts team by hosting the first annual "Subie Sunday"!

For the first time, Ferguson Subaru sponsored the Oklahoma State Category Crit Championship. With a full day of bike races, sanctioned by the Bicycle Racing Association OK (BRAOK), the event was packed full of fun and excitement. BRAOK is a statewide membership organization whose mission is to educate, promote and enhance the sport of amateur bicycle racing in the State of Oklahoma.

The event drew bike racers from Oklahoma, Kansas, Texas, and more. Whether spectators were into bike racing or not, the event included fun activates for all-ages. Free bounce houses and snow cones were on site! All proceeds went to benefitting the Oklahoma Bike Club.

Ferguson Subaru hopes the success of the first-ever Subie Sunday continues into the future. We're proud to help promote bicycle racing in Oklahoma, and are honored to partner with great organizations such as Ruts N' Guts.

Ferguson Subaru Sponsors 8th Annual Bark Walk & Pet Fest

One of our most favorite, yearly events is the annual Bark Walk. The Bark Walk is a fundraising event hosted by The Boxer Rescue of Oklahoma. Ferguson Subaru has been a Bark Walk sponsor for over 7 years! 2017 marked the 8th Annual Bark Walk & Pet Fest, and once again Ferguson Subaru was a "Top Dog" presenting sponsor!

Ferguson Subaru has been a long-time sponsor of the Bark Walk for many reasons. The Boxer Rescue of Oklahoma uses donations raised during the event towards a cause we deeply care about - animal rescue. Funds raised from Bark Walk help support The Boxer Rescue of Oklahoma by allowing the organization to save the lives of homeless animals and help promote animal welfare in our community. But, as an added bonus, we also get to meet dozens of four-legged friends and their proud owners.

This year's Bark Walk was held in Central Park, in downtown Broken Arrow. The event included the annual 1 mile walk around the park, and the popular PetFest; which featured a KidsZone with a bounce house, face painting and more, lots of vendors, food trucks, pet adoptions and much more!

Each year we bring some of our newest Subaru models to the event. This year, Ferguson Subaru brought the new 2017 Subaru Forester, and the new 2017 Subaru Outback Touring. The 2017 Outback Touring features a dark gray grille and a new Java Brown perforated leather-trimmed upholstery with contrasting ivory stitching.Learn more about the 2017 Subaru Outback Touring here: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=CsQb0KtlX-c

2017 Impreza Earns Spot on AutoTrader's 'Must Test-Drive' Award, Continuing The Redesigned Sedan's Hot Streak

Subaru gave the Impreza a complete overhaul, for model year 2017. Subaru promised the 2017 Impreza would deliver significantly higher levels of driving pleasure, and boy has it delivered!

The 2017 Subaru Impreza has quickly become a favorite among our Tulsa area shoppers. Just read what one excited, new Impreza owner had to say about their new Subaru:
"We will never buy from another place again! Ferguson Subaru and their amazing staff got us into a car that checked all of our needs and every one of our wants. We looked back in November and met Chester our sales guy. He was great then and when we came back last week he still remembered my list of absolutes. During financing we never felt like we couldn't afford to be there. It was what can we do for you not what could we do for them. Because of all of that we are now the proud owners of a 2017 Subaru Impreza! It is sporty and fun, but the safest car I have ever driven. Subaru will be the only brand we buy for our kids when they start driving, and that says a lot! Ferguson Subaru will be the only dealership we use. We are proud to be part of the Ferguson and Subaru family!"  - Sarah J. 02/03/17

The 2017 Subaru Impreza has impressed more than just our Tulsa area shoppers. AutoTrader is one of the most trusted car-shopping brands. For years, AutoTrader has put together a list of 12 vehicles they believe are best-in-class; vehicles they recommend every new car shopper take for a test drive, before making a final purchase. AutoTrader calls these vehicles their 'Must Test-Drive Award' winners!

The 2017 Subaru Impreza has made AutoTrader's 2017 'Must Test-Drive' Award list!

The 2017 Impreza was the first model to debut a new design language from Subaru. The new look incorporates hexagonal grille and hawk-eye headlights on a more sculptural body. The 2017 Impreza was also the first model to debut Subaru's newest Global Platform architecture. The new platform gives the sedan greater ride comfort, agility, and crash protection.

So far, the newly redesigned sedan has been red hot! Impreza sales for April 2017 increased 66.2% over the same month in 2016 and marked the second time that Impreza has topped 8,000 units in a month. Thanks to these strong numbers, the 2017 Impreza has helped Subaru reach its best April in the history of the company!

Subaru's president and chief operating officer, Thomas Doll, had the following to say about the 2017 Impreza's achievement, "With positive press reaction to the all-new Impreza and upcoming Crosstrek models, we expect even stronger demand as we enter the summer months...We are well positioned for continued success with our crossover models, as well as record sales volume from the all-new Impreza."

Ferguson Subaru has a large selection of 2017 Subaru Impreza models to choose from. Located in Broken Arrow, we're Northeast Oklahoma's premier Subaru dealer. Visit Ferguson Subaru today to test-drive the all-new Impreza!

Subaru Ascent, Subaru's new third-row SUV

Ever since Subaru discontinued the Tribeca, our Tulsa-area shoppers have been asking us, when is Subaru going to offer a third-row SUV? Today, Subaru gave us the answer! Say hello to the Subaru Ascent!

Granted Subaru has only revealed an Ascent concept car, at this point in time. However, the production Ascent will undoubtedly be very similar.

We can hear the praise already. For our Tulsa-area families who have to haul around little ones, a third-row seat is often a necessity. The new Subaru Ascent gives hope to Oklahoma, Subaru shoppers who need an SUV larger than the Outback.

Both the design concept and the production Ascent will feature an all-new turbocharged direct injection boxer engine. The Ascent production model will be based on a modified version of Subaru's Global Platform; which debuted on the 2017 Impreza and can be found on the newly redesigned 2018 Crosstrek. Additionally, we know the upcoming Subaru Ascent will come standard with Subaru's famous Symmetrical All-Wheel drive.

We know the announcement of the new Subaru Ascent is welcome news for our Tulsa-area shoppers have been waiting for a third-row, Subaru SUV. Your wait is almost over. Ferguson Subaru, Northeast Oklahoma's premiere Subaru dealer, is excepting the new Ascent three-row crossover to arrive at our Broken Arrow dealership early 2018.

Best Vehicle For Tulsa Families, the Subaru Outback

Tulsa families are busy. Whether mom and dad are hauling the family to Soccer City Tulsa, driving over to the park for Tulsa Little League baseball practice, or simply waiting in school drop-off lines; the average Tulsa family spends a significant amount of time in the confines of the family vehicle.

With so much time spent inside the family vehicle, it's important to have a vehicle that fits every varying need of the on-the-go, city living lifestyle. Roominess, comfortability, price, and versatility are characteristics usually found on the top of our Tulsa families' lists. For many Tulsa families, the perfect vehicle for the job is the Subaru Outback!

2017 Subaru Outback

The industry's top critics have also taken note of the Outback's advantage as the family vehicle.

The 2017 Subaru Outback recently won U.S. News & World Report’s Best Wagon for Families for the sixth year in a row as part of their 2017 Best Cars for Families awards. U.S. News & World Report praised the Outback stating, "The 2017 Subaru Outback has class-leading cargo capacity, excellent passenger space, and a well-built and durable cabin that make it a good fit for families on the go."

The Subaru Outback also earned a spot on KBB.com's 2017 "12 Best Family Cars" list. The Subaru Outback is a multi-year KBB "Best Family Car award winner." KBB.com's editors had the following to say about why the Subaru Outback continues to make it on the top of their list, "The 2017 Subaru Outback is among the most practical, sensible and versatile vehicles money can buy. Many ingredients go into this Subaru's secret sauce, from its standard all-wheel drive to its fuel efficiency, advanced safety features and stellar resale value. Each is impressive on its own. Combined, they make the Outback a standout."

For 2017, Subaru introduced a new flagship model with Outback Touring. The legendary crossover stands out with an exclusive, eye-catching Brilliant Brown exterior color. Additional defining features include: unique Outback badging, low-profile roof rails in a silver finish along with lower cladding, 18" wheels with a machined finish and dark gray accents, and a Touring-specific dark gray grille. It's Almost Here, the 2018 Subaru Crosstrek!

The redesigned 2018 Subaru Crosstrek is set to debut March 7th at the Geneva auto show. The only teaser photo that Subaru has released hints at a new Crosstrek with a few design cues taken from the XV Concept that was shown during the 2016 Geneva Auto Show; design cues such as a sporty side profile and similarly designed taillights.

Watch the unveiling of the 2018 Subaru Crosstrek at the following web address:

With its outdoor attitude and outstanding ground clearance, the Subaru Crosstrek has become a favorite among our Tulsa-area shoppers; including Rick Couri. Local voice of Tulsa football, Rick Couri, takes his Subaru Crosstrek on fishing and scuba diving adventures

Not much is known about what Subaru's engineers have done to the all-new 2018 Crosstrek. We expect the 2018 Crosstrek will be fitted with Subaru's new global platform underpinning that was introduced on the 2017 Subaru Impreza. The 2017 Impreza was also equipped with a 2.0-liter four-cylinder engine that produces 152 horsepower and 145 pound-feet of torque; which we expect to power the 2018 Crosstrek, as well.

Subaru will undoubtedly continue its reputation for industry-leading safety with the release of the 2018 Crosstrek. The 2017 Crosstrek was awarded a 2017 Top Safety Pick by the IIHS and received the highest rating of five stars for its overall rating by the NHTSA. The 2018 Crosstrek will likely be equipped with Subaru's award-winning Eyesight driver assist system that offers drivers crash prevention technologies, such as: Reverse Automatic Braking, Automatic Pre-Collision Braking, Blind spot detection, rear cross-traffic alert, lane keep assist function, and lane departure warning.

Check out demonstrations of Subaru's Automatic Pre-Collision Braking and Reverse Automatic Braking systems!

Putting Subaru's Reverse Automatic Braking System to the Test, with Joe Glenn

When it comes to safety, nobody does it better than Subaru. Subaru is an industry-leader in safety. In fact, Subaru is a leading choice among parents with teen drivers. When you choose a Subaru, you’re not just choosing a car. You're choosing a company with a lifetime commitment to protecting those you love.

Subaru's EyeSight Driver Assist Technology is the culmination of everything Subaru engineers know about safety. It gives drivers an extra set of eyes on the road and, if need be, an extra foot on the brake. That extra foot is Subaru's Reverse Automatic Braking system.

Reverse Automatic Braking works to detect objects directly behind your Subaru, when backing at a low speed. Using four ultra-sonic sensors installed in the rear bumper, the system detects objects behind the vehicle and can even bring the vehicle to a stop.

Joe Glenn, from Ferguson Subaru, put his full trust in Subaru. He demonstrated the Reverse Automatic Braking system on a new 2017 Subaru Impreza by standing directly behind the vehicle, while in reverse. Watch Subaru's Reverse Automatic Braking in action, below!

Subaru's Reverse Automatic Braking system provides drivers with greater safety and peace of mind when reversing. As you can see from the video, Subaru's Reverse Automatic Braking system did the job perfectly, keeping Joe safe and unharmed.

Subaru's Reverse Automatic Braking is just one of many power additions to Subaru's suite of advanced Eyesight safety technologies. Eyesight technologies have helped Subaru's lineup of 2016 and 2017 models receive the highest possible rating for front crash prevention from IIHS.

If you have any questions about the Reverse Automatic Braking system, Subaru's Eyesight technology, or any other Subaru related questions give Joe Glenn at call at 918-258-1800, or stop by Ferguson Subaru in Broken Arrow, OK. Ferguson Subaru is Oklahoma's number one Subaru dealer.
