The Subaru buggy will continue to be piloted by the Grabowski brothers, Dusty and Parker. Subaru has renewed their partnership with Crawford Performance and Grabowski Brothers Racing. For the 2018 Baja 500, the team around the Subaru Crosstrek Desert Racer managed to secure a second-place finish.

The Subaru Crosstrek Desert Racer is powered by a 2.5L non-turbocharged SUBARU BOXER engine built by Quirt Crawford of Crawford Performance, producing 300 horsepower in a lightweight and reliable package. The Desert Racer’s new look reflects the expansion of the Subaru brand’s official racing efforts in America beyond rally and rallycross.

William Stokes, of Motorsports Manager for Subaru of America, had the following to say about the new Crosstrek buggy “We’re proud to renew our support for Crawford Performance and Grabowski Brothers Racing, and bring our iconic blue and gold motorsports colors to the off-road racing world.”

The 2019 Baja 500 is a grueling off-road race that runs through the upper area of Mexico’s Baja California Peninsula. The Subaru Crosstrek Desert Racer will have to make it through the race’s 487.11 mile-long looping course full of tough terrain and extreme heat. The 2019 Baja 500 will kick off Saturday, June 1.
