5th Annual Bark Walk

According to The Humane Society of the United States, "An estimated 2.7 million healthy shelter pets are not adopted each year, and only about 30 percent of pets in homes come from shelters or rescues." [1]

We love our pets here at Ferguson Subaru. Both our Subaru showroom and Subaru service department are pet-friendly facilities. Being the animal lovers we are, it hurts to hear statistics such as the one above. We believe in fighting for those without a voice. Animal rescue and animal cruelty awareness are two major pillars in our company's identity. Lucky for us, our dealership has a brand that is equally committed to animal rescue. Subaru of America has been a long time partner of the ASPCA (American Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals). The ASPCA is the leading animal welfare organization in the North America. That's why we are proud to work with local organizations like the Boxer Rescue of Oklahoma.

The Boxer Rescue of Oklahoma is a 501(c)3 non-profit, volunteer ran organization committed to rescuing unwanted and abandoned purebred Boxers in the state of Oklahoma (and surrounding areas) and placing them in a safe, responsible, loving, and permanent home. For the past five years The Boxer Rescue of Oklahoma has held their annual Bark Walk. Ferguson Subaru has be a proud sponsor of the Bark Walk for 4 years.

The 5th Annual Bark Walk was held this past weekend! This fun-filled family fundraiser features a 1 mile walk through the beautiful Washington Irving Park in Bixby. Funds raised during the Bark Walk help save the lives of homeless animals and help promote animal welfare in your community. Every year, dozens of homeless animals are adopted during the Bark Walk as well. Shelters from across Green Country bring loving animals available for adoption.

We had a blast at this year's 2014 Bark Walk. Check out photos from the event:

Today is National Animal Advocacy Day. Help support animal rescue in Tulsa, Broken Arrow, Bixby, Jenks, Sapulpa, and the surrounding area. We encourage you to adopt your next four-legged companion. Two great animal welfare organizations Ferguson Subaru has worked with include the Boxer Rescue of Oklahoma and the Tulsa SPCA.
